We recently had to have our gateway computer set back to factory settings and now our GMAX 2100 Computer Speakers won't work. I have everything plugged in correctly (I think!) but they won't work. I have downloaded Adobe Flash 10.1, but still, nothing.

Hi Angela, first find the green plug and connect it in to your headphone inlet (if you are using a laptop, it usually comes on its right side of, if you are using a desktop, then it could come on its back). Plug each little speaker in to the red and white plugs located at back of the largest box/speaker. Set your speakers control next to you, plug the power cord, turn on your speakers systems, adjust volume at middle turn on your computer... And enjoy it!

Try Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Volume > Speaker Settings > Advance. Choose Speaker setup.

Under Windows XP, click Start
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on "My Computer".
Click Properties.
The first screen will run a short "speed-test" to determine your "actual" CPU-speed, and to display the "rated" CPU-speed, e.g., 3000 MHz running at 2.99 Ghz.

This happened with a DV9000 recently and the speaker assembly had to be replaced. I found one on ebay for 5 bucks. Need to remove the power button plate and unscrew the speaker assemblies and replace.

If you have a sound card added on your motherboard, i suggest you uninstall the drivers, take off the sound card, attach it again and install the drivers.

If you connect your speakers through the motherboard itself, uninstall drivers and install them by searching C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

Ok There is another chance to work your speakers ,

  If you have your mother board CD , get play that  and  reinstall the sound system .
