You need to go to the laptops diisplay settings and set the 2nd display, you can copy (clone) or extend the desktop.
On your TV choose the VGA connection with the AV button, this is sometimes marked as a screen with an arrow in it, this is the button you press to change between your hdmi, scart and arial etc

Connecting Eee pc laptop using xp to my tv with vga

Connect the VGA cable to the laptop and to the tv. On the TV take your remote and go to Select Input then select (PC or Computer or VGA just depends on your TV). if the image is not on your tv, reboot the laptop.

After rebooting if the image is not on the tv, try the steps below.

The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) located at the lower left portion of the keyboard + the correct F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

Can't display with my laptop using VGA to 3RCA cable

Can't display where on another monitor or tv? Did you reboot the computer after plugging in the VGA Cable. Sometimes you have to hit the FN Function Key + F1 thru F12 to get the image to display. The correct F1 thru F12 key will have CRT/LCD on it or it might have the icon of a display. Press and hold the FN function key then hit the correct F1 thru F12 Key.

Dod you use HOTKEYS on the laptop to tell it to send the signal the VGA outlet of the laptop? The hotkeys function can be set to turn off the laptop screen and only have external monitor to be the only display or it can be set to have both of them on.

Connecting lg viewty to my tv

A You can do this with a VGA to TV convertor. This is a device that converts the VGA signal from your laptop to a signal that your TV displays. It simply plugs into the VGA port on your laptop, as you would a monitor or projector, and into your TV.

I frequently use these devices, and they are very simple to use, with good results. You can find an excellent model at http://sewelldirect.com/pc-to-tv.asp

Connecting plasma tv to pc

You need to either connect to the TV the cord that your computer monitor would connect to or have a video card that supports S-Video and the appropriate cables S-Video and RCA audio out cables for either.

Then you must select the appropriate input on your TV, such as VGA or S-Video (and audio in.) .

Let us know how you make out.
