Question about Acer Aspire 3000 Notebook
Not absolutely certain, but I think that model requires you to connect two points on the laptop mobo (it is a laptop, right?). I don't believe removing the battery on that model will reset bios but give it a shot...stranger things have happened. Search for the LONE person out there that actually posted the answer in one of the blogs. You'll find it if you persevere.

reseting the bios password is easy.
All you need to do is to unscrew the bottompanel and then remove the CMOS battery to reset the password on it.
Then after that you will be able to access the comptuer again normally.
