Question about Thermador Microwave Ovens

Thermador RES 30 range. I need wiring color and connection assistance to the display assy. I sent the display in for repair and now I am re-installing it. I thought I marked the connections down properly but now it seems that I didn't. Don't want to power up without being sure.

The display was not sent to Thermador but to CoreCentric solutions in Illinois. They are an authorized repair facility.
That Bosh display is no longer available and if you cant get it repaired you are screwed. It is a very common problem that those displays go so dim you cannot read them.
    Piece of **** for a $2200 stove.

I found the wiring diagrams and schematics for my Thermador. It was in a plastic sleeve, taped to the inside wall of the range, near the bottom right. Pull out the bottom drawer completely and see if your's is taped there as well

That is proprietary Thermador information, they are the only ones that can provide that. Was it Thermador that you sent the display into for repairs? If so they should definitely be able to give you the information you need. Do you need their phone number?

Please let me know and I can definitely help, thanks

Yikes, yes that could be an issue for sure, well that repair house will definitely have the wiring diagram you need. As far as I can tell it isn't available anywhere online or even to us... It is only through authorized repair houses.

    Thanks

Samsung microwave oven model SHM 9187 st error code 5e

This model of microwave SHM9187 has a ribbon cable on the right hand side where the control assembly fits on the frame that picks up a signal from the frame that causes erroneous signals to be sent along one of the wires. It overloads the CPU and the result is a "SE" code and the machine shuts down. You need to put electrical tape over the entire surface of that ribbon cable in order to sufficiently insolate the cable. The repair is simple. Undo the two screws on top of the machine above the door. Pop the vent assembly to the left about an inch. Wiggle it off. Next there is one screw on the control assy at the top edge. Take it off. Pop the assy from the bottom and push up about a half inch. Lift top of assy away and rotate out. The ribbon cable in on the right hand side. You should unplug the microwave. When you reverse assemble everything and plug in the microwave, you are back to normal operation. Do the clock set and be happy.

If you mean you cannot unsolder the wires and release the display, use solder braid or called solder mop, available from many good electronics stores.
Hope this helps.

Does not work. has F2 displayed on screen.155l model khm

hello,

This error code on a Kitchen Aid range indicates a keypad short on the Electronic Range Control (ERC) board. This is the clock/timer on the operator console. The recommended fix is to replace the ERC. You can generally find replacement parts at these websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare.

Replacing an ERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by the average do-it-your self offer. If you decide to order the part and wish to repair this on your own, follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the range. Dangerous voltage is still present inside even with the range turned off.

2. Pull the range away from the wall and turn the unit around so you can access the rear panel.

3. Remove the screws on the back of the operator console.

4. Carefully disconnect the connector plugs to the ERC. Take note of how they are connected, so that you can reinstall them correctly.

NOTE: The connectors are usually color coded with the colors printed on the circuit board. However, if the colors are not printed on the board, write them down. (A digital camera also comes in real handy for this).

5. With the connectors removed, remove the mounting screws to the ERC and the assembly will come out.

NOTE: Most replacement ERC boards do not come with the overlay. This is the plastic pre-printed number display. The overlay can easily be peeled off and re-used. Just make sure you properly orient the overlay so that you don't inadvertently place it on the new board upside down. If your existing overlay is damaged, you will need to order separately.

6. Install new ERC using the steps provided in reverse order. Minimize handling the new circuit board with your bare hands to avoid damaging the board.
I hope this information helps you.

thank you for using fixya.

Need replacement microwave for 6 yr. old Thermador MBBS microwave

I have the Thermador MBBS/01 in a Theramdor oven/warming drawer/microwave unit. When I was told it would be $600 to repair it, I called thermador & they don't make a replacement. Thermador CS was even rude about it. I searched & searched for a microwave that would fit & found a GE model JEB1860M1SS at Home Depot for $259.00. My husband & I just installed it & the frame kit inside, on the old Thermador micorwave fit PERFECT! I could not believe it. I thought we would either have to settle for something looking tacky in the hole or buy a whole new unit. Looks like it came in that unit.

Microwave oven turns off

Many over-the-range microwave ovens suffer from intermittent problems caused by excessive moisture from the range/stove entering the microwave cabinet and collecting on the circuitry. Often the problem is with one or two simple connections that may need tightening or soldering. But, to repair these components, the microwave cabinet needs to be opened. So we recommend that you seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

It may be worth getting it repaired. Shop around for prices and see if it is worth your while to repair it or simply buy a new one :)

Thermador MBY microwave

The problem is the push-on connector on the UPPER door-latch switch; if the white plastic around this connector is brown (burning), the connection is going bad.

Cut the three white wires back about 1 inch and strip; obtain a new push-on and solder the three white wires into it-- a crimp is NOT sufficient for three wires into this little connector (defective design). Also clean the two blade on the switch before reconnecting as the heat has likely left a burnt coating.

Microwave came on by itself

Yes this is usually caused by the touch assy, but $278 !!!!! Thats kinda steep considering the panel assy is only around 30-60 bucks!!! It will need the touch assy and even possibly the control board, because sometimes the logic IC gets fried and causes "ghost issues" as well.
