Pry the top cover as shown then raise it to the rear of the dryer.

Disconnect the door switch harness and remove the screws attaching the top of the front panel to the cabinet then lift and remove the panel. You now have access to the igniter.

I moved and cannot locate the pilot/ignition source on the dryer to relight it.

It's been many, many years since dryers had pilot lights. Look for an igniter that may have gone out. It should be behind a service door.

Dryer runs but is not heating up. Checked vent and it is not clogged

If you have a gas dryer, your problem is probably caused by the ingition panel.Generally, with a gas dryer, there is an ignition device that heats to a specific temperature and this causes the gas to ignite. When this electric ignition fails to work, the gas will not ignite and there will be no heat. I had this happen and had to call a professional. It was a simple matter of installing a new ignition device and it worked perfectly for years. I hope this helps! If it is a new dryer, check to see if this part might be covered under warranty.

Dryer running ,but no heat.Roper gas dryer,mod - RGD440VQ0, Sn - MW/2901047

Most common reasons for a gas dryer to fail: 1. No electric, 2. no gas supply, 3. failed ignitor, 4. failed flame sensor. If 1 & 2 are ruled out, then we go from there. An ignitor/glow ignitor is what gets hot and allows the gas to be ignited. Most dryers will not let the igntior come on if the flame sensor is down. Replacing an ignitor is very easy. Usually 1 screw and a molex (special type of plastic electrical connection). Molex connection will usually pull apart very easily. This repair should cost less than about $30 if you buy it online. There are step by step instructions for this repair on this website if you search for "gas dryer no heat troubleshooting." Making this repair will require access to the internal workings of your dryer. Make sure the dryer is unpluged from the wall before you access it or the control panel.

Access the gas igniter to swap out with new

If the lint screen is on top there are 2 phillips screws you remove at the filter location. You then are able to pop the top up and remove the front panel. This will get into the igniter area. If you have a panel on the bottom just take the panel off and do it thru there. All service is done thru the front. good luck and hope this helps. You sure the igniter is bad. Because it doesn't glow does not mean it is bad.

How do i light the pilot lite on the dryer it is a roper 4 cycle # 9831176

The dryer is automatic ignition through a glowbar ignitor. Open the lid and remove the front panel to access the glowbar. It is on the bottom right at the gas valve.
It will need replacing.

No longer drying the clothes. How can I fix this?

Make sure the lint filter is clean and the dryer vent pipe is not clogged all the way to the outlet.
If it is not getting warm the gas igniter/glow plug may need to be replaced.
If the igniter is OK but the flame does not light the gas valve coil may need to be replaced.
If it gets warm and the venting is not clogged, the thermostat or flame sensor may need to be replaced.

You may have gotten water in your igniter or pilot light. Put a hair dryer to the areas where the pilot and igniter and burner is so that it can be fried out.

If you feel confident

Do you get a "glow" the glow (orange in color) is for the gas to be ignited?
.1 No glow indicates a no voltage problem to the burner or the igniter is out. Confirm power to the gas valve area 110V usually. If you have voltage the problem is somewhere in the area your in; probably the igniter.

2 If you don't have 110 Volts the problem is in the controls. The fuse link, the timer contacts, the centrifugal switch on the motor, and the heater safety thermostat and operating (s), are all suspect and have to be eliminated 1 by 1.

Hope this helps. With any luck all you need is a new igniter.

Clean the duct out while replacing the igniter if so because the main thing that causes igniter burn out is low air flow. A kinked Dryer vent hose, lint, and plugged up fan circulator on the motor, or if yours has little holes in the inside cabinet where the air is taken to be heated and recirculated, these can get clogged with lint also and cause a problem are the 4 main causes of low air flow..

Hope this helps and please rate me accordingly Thank you and good luck.
