That panel is supposed to be kept closed by some plastic clamps. First make sure that the clamps haven't fall down - if they did try to find and reattach them.
If the clams are gone then use a can of transparent silicone sealant - put small drops along the circumference of the opening then push the lid in position, it will act as glue. While it dries secure it with paper sticky tape.

How do change or clean out the waterpump

There is a front access panel below your door that is held in place by 2 screws at the very bottom edge near the floor. Remove the screws and access panel. The drain pump on that model I think is at right front corner. To remove or clean it---unplug washer---unplug 2 wires to pump---remove/loosen 2 big hose clamps and pull rubber hoses off---and then remove 2 mounting screws holding pump to washer floor. Reverse procedure to reinstall.

Foul Odor & Occasional Leak

Looks like you were suffering thru the same thing we have in our house - did you ever get a solution to this? I was wondering if some of your vent pipes were cracked or partially clogged, especially where you had that plumbing access hole in the wall. Hope you've got this fixed already, since plumbing companies usually charge about $350 to run those smoke tests to find and pinpoint problems, and it doesn't always work. Buzzie

My washer isnt draining isnt draining all the way and the drum isnt spinning at all but i can hear the motor running! The belt is not broken!!

Hi, Margo, with the limited info could have several different problems... giving you approximately the same results that you are seeing but I will that would give you a quick checkout procedure for a very common problem and it may solve your problem.

(1) Unplug your machine from the wall power (120VAC). Remove the front...bottom panel only. This panel is the bottom 1/3 of the machine's overall front panel. There are several screws maybe 4 or 5 that will have to be removed. There are 2 screws, 1 screw on the top left corner of the bottom panel and 1 screw on the top right corner of the bottom panel. The other screws are located at the extreme bottom left corner and and extreme right corner. There may be 1 screw in the middle on the bottom panel at the floor level. These screws are probably 9/32" hex heads screws with a phillips head also . You probably will have to tilt the machine slightly backward.... lifting the front legs about 2 inches off of the floor in order to gain access to the bottom screws. You may want to have a friend to help as the machine will probably have to be pulled away from the wall in order to tilt it backward. Warning: this machine is extremely heavy.... so proceed with caution. After you remove the bottom panel... you can set the machine back down on its front legs.

(2) Have some dirty towels available to mop up any water. At this time look into the bottom of the machine in the front bottom middle area should see a round black assembly that has a removable cap that is about the size of the gasoline cap on your car. Turn this cap Counter clock wise (CCW) and remove it. Inside the housing you may see derbish (pins, screws, strings, buttons, hair etc) blocking this 'button trap.' Clean all the trash out of this housing and reinstall the removable cap tightening it in a clock wise direction. Mop up any water. Reinstall the bottom panel. and reapply power (120VAC) to the machine and attempt to run a cycle. Hope this helps you to solve your problem. Handy Henry

I am trying to repalce the drum belt on a Hoover D6530 tumble dryer. What is the easiest way to do this?

here is the procedure to remove the drum:
1) There are 3 screws on the rear at the top that hold a plastic strip, remove the screws and the strip.
2) Slide out the top panel to the rear.
3) In each of the top front corners there is a screw, remove it and slide the top trim bars back and remove.
4) Tilt the machine backwards; remove 3 screws from the front underside.
5) Remove 2 screws from the top panel behind the control panel trim (each one about 2" inboard of the corner screws in step 3.)
6) Take note / photograph the mains switch connections, controller PCB connections and control knob connection. Remove the connectors and the control knob.
7) Slide the control panel to the right and remove.
8) Open the door. There are 2 screws by each hinge on the left. There are another 2 screws to the right.Remove 2 screws on the hinge side that have the same heads and level with the screws on the right.Remove the 2 screws on the right.
9) Pull off the front panel. 10) Remove the lint trap.
11) Remove the 2 screws that secure the lint trap housing to the front support frame. (Look up at the lint trap from the floor, they are under the front edge of the lint trap housing, one on each side.)
12) Support the drum (you can use a solid cardboard box that just fits between the drum and the machine floor.)
13) Remove the 4 M4 head screws (8mm box spanner) that hold the front support frame to the chassis.
14) Lift the front support frame up and pull the lower part forward to release it from the chassis

Drum won't turn

the dryer belt has broken or the motor is defective, start by checking the belt, here is how to replace the belt.

  • Look up your specific model number and buy a replacement belt from a Maytag dealer or a third-party supplier of replacement appliance parts.

  • Unplug the dryer and remove the exhaust vent tube from the back.
  • Pull out the lint screen. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws around the lint screen housing.
  • Slide the blade of a flat screwdriver underneath the top panel at one of the front corners of the machine. Pry the top panel up slowly, being careful to not nick or scratch the finish. You should hear a snap when you've lifted the panel high enough; that noise is just the latch releasing.
  • repeat Step 4 on the other front corner of the machine and then lift the hinged lid up.
  • Firmly grasp the top edge of the front panel of the dryer. Wiggle it to the front and back slightly as you lift upward, and the panel should come loose from the latches holding it in place.
  • Slide the front panel forward while your assistant supports the inner drum. Pull the front panel completely off of the machine.
  • Reach underneath the drum and pull out the broken belt.
  • Slip the replacement belt around the drum while your assistant continues to support the front of the drum. Turn the belt so the grooved side fits into the visible grooves around the circumference of the drum.
  • Get on the floor again and locate the motor underneath the drum. You will see two round pulleys; the larger one is the motor pulley and the smaller one is the idler pulley. Grab a section of the slackened belt, fold it in half and push the loop underneath the idler pulley. Wrap the loop around the motor pulley.
  • Push the idler pulley to the side, away from the motor. The grooves on the pulley should fit just right with the belt, and moving the pulley over should create tension in the belt all the way around the drum.
  • Slide the front panel back up against the machine, working with your assistant to fit the front of the drum into place. When the drum is secured to the front panel, slide the panel straight down into place. You may hear or feel it lock into place when you've pushed down far enough.
  • Lower the top panel and push it down until it snaps into place. Replace the screws surrounding the lint screen housing and put the lint screen back.
  • Reattach the exhaust vent tube and the electrical plug.

How do i access the water pump on the frigidaire affinity atf6000

There should be to screws at the bottom on each end of the lower front panel. Remove them and the panel will fall down off its upper locating pins and you can then remove the panel. The water pump should be right at the front on the lower right corner. Make sure you unplug the machine first if you are going to be working in there.

The top must be lifted and the front must come off so you can slide the new belt on. When that is done in the back you will see a panel to be removed. Slide the belt back and install it around the pulley on the motor. When you are done put it back together and wala. I hope this helped you out.

We don't know how to fix an integrated towel rail to the basin

    Hi stickybrfc,

    I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your statement is: You have purchased a corner basin with integrated towel rail but there are no instructions to fit the rail onto the basin. various fittings & screws but no instructions.

I'm going to assime this is a wall hung sink.
The amount of parts will depend on whether it has a round front, straight front or square front. Installation is basically the same. The rod holders have a U shaped connection for the bottom of the apron (the screw goes in the back). Install the first one then a rod then the next one till you're done. You may need a helper to hold things in place till it's secure. Snug up the screws but DON"T OVERTIGHTEN. I find it helpfull to put a little piece of hard wood or rubber between the back of the apron and the screw.
