Just bought a LG home theater system for my TV, my model number is 247FHD-T11, the theater system uses and hdmi cable, but my tv has not connect, what am I doing wrong?

It appears that television does not use HDMI to connect audio, only video. Sound is via twin phono leads. Here is the page in your manual.

Having trouble recording TV broadcast to DVD?

My LG DVD recorder was unreliable when recording TV broadcasts to "standard" DVD disks. Frequently it would begin recording a show and then stop with a copyright error message during some commercial. I rarely got a complete show. Very frustrating!

Solution: Buy some DVD-RAM disks and this machine will become totally reliable. They are hard to find and a little more expensive than +RW or -RW. Because of the copyright programming on this machine only DVD-RAM disks will work in VR (Video Recorder) mode.

Recorder won't boot up

Last time we had one of those doing that, it was the laser assembly that needed replacement. It's doing what is called POST. "Power On Self Test" and not able to get a "status" from the laser. It will keep trying indefinitely, repeating "Hello". Hello, is just it's way of saying, please wait while I check every little thing and confirm I am ready to operate safely and efficiently.

My monitor has a line down the middle with a shadow on one side of theline and I have osd locked on the screen and cannot get the program to show on screen to fix it

Vertical line down a monitor with a shadow genearlly is an indication of a video cable problem. Try removing the video cable from the computer and if it is still there and OSD is still locked it is an internal logic circuits problem

After I reformat my LG HDD video recorder to give me more space, it only clears a tiny portion. How do I clear the whole recorder? I am going to HDD format, and reformatting. Thanks

Hi,

Do you mean it always shows 10Gb less space than the capacity of the drive. ie only shows 150Gb but you have a 160Gb drive? The reason for this is that it has 10Gb reserved for the buffer of the pause/rewind live TV.

Cheers,

Keith

Turning off recordng message.

You can turn the display off during playback mode, however, if the display was on during recording, that cannot be turned off. . 1. Press the DISPLAY button on the left side panel. 2. Each press of the button toggles the OSD function on and off. When you turn the OSD off : * In CAM mode: The STBY, REC, EASY.Q modes are always displayed on the OSD, even when the OSD is turned OFF and the key input is displayed for 3 seconds then turned off. * In PLAYER mode: When you press any Function button, the function is displayed on the OSD for 3 seconds before it turns off. Turning the DATE/TIME on/off * The DATE/TIME is not affected when the OSD function is switched ON or OFF. * To turn the DATE/TIME on or off, access the menu and change the DATE/TIME mode.
