Question about Polk Audio AMR50 Computer Speakers

Open Question

I recently moved into this new place and moved all computer equipment in my car. Sound was fine until I had computer hooked up in new place. I had hooked HP Pavilion monitor to new Dell harddrive that one son had bought me. Speakers on monitor are made by PolkAudio and just hook onto sides of monitor. I've had no sound at all till I moved my monitor and jiggled one connection that goes into harddrive and lo and behold, have barely sound in "left" speaker. I notice that the connection into back of harddrive is not connecting well. Could that be my problem and I need to buy new speakers. Can you help me please. Also can I re-install the sound via cd that came with my HP computer when I bought it in 1997? After checking everything I can, noticed that the only thing that comes up that is not working is "input monitor" is off and cannot be turned up via volume or anything.

Hi. You definitely have a hardware issue but I do not appear to need new speakers. We can isolate the problem but I need to ask a couple of questions. 1) When referring to the "Hard Drive" do you mean the computer tower or are you using an external portable drive? When looking at the 1/8 inch plug from the speakers does it appear to have been physically damaged during the move or does it have a shell around the body of the plug that is removable and may have come loose allowing damage to the connections inside? I'll wait for your response. Steve

SOURCE: My speakers sound like the sound is playing underwater

It's probably just a playback setting but, take it back anyway. Let them see if they can make it right. If not, the repair's at their cost.

I recently moved from one place to another. My speakers were working fine. I hooked them up to my computer and now there's static sound coming from the speakers nothing else. The wires look in good...

Try another set of speakers on that motherboard. If you still get static then you know the sound chipset on the motherboard is going bad. At that point you can replace the motherboard or buy a sound card that plugs into one of the PCI slots. If you try different speakers and they work then you know the old speakers are bad.

Denon avr-1907 sound from TV stopped working

Help with hooking PS3 to a Denon Receiver. It worked before, but I had to move everything to a different location and when I hooked it back up the PS3 has sound but no picture. I have it hooked directly to the receiver with and HDMI cable (the receiver is hooked up to our cable box which is directly hooked to the tv via HDMI cable).
