I have the same model cd player and am having the same issue. I took the face plate off and cleaned the contacts with a contact cleaner, and now I'm not getting any power to the unit.

Intermittent power to head unit

no inline fuse? I usually just slip the wire inside the battery connector, remove connector lay wire across battery with stripped end running up the side of the battery terminal place connector down on terminal and wire, tighten connector back up.

Hi there,
If this model has a detachable faceplate,
Remove the faceplate and clean down the contacts with metho and a cotton bud.
Over time usually corrosion and dirt etc builds up on these terminals making them loose cotact when you touch the faceplate.
This is the most commonly known problem alpine units.
Other common problems is the power supply failing /amplifier.
Hope this helps you out
Cheers
Steve
