How to replace inverter boards


Carefully lift up the FL inverter and rotate it a little bit. Unplug cables on both sides. The left side of the inverter board connects to the video cable, the right side to the backlight bulb (CCFL tube) inside the LCD screen. Remove the inverter and replace it with a new one

I use Keb F5 on lift, there is no error message but lift does not move


If there is no error, the inverter is doing what it is be commanded to do.

Check your control signals to verify that they are providing the proper signals to the inverter.

KEB sells inverters to many different type of lift manufactures. The lift manufactures themselves have good tech support for their equipment.

Several things can cause your Dell Latittude D600 laptop's LCD screen to stop working.

Two of the most common causes relate directly to the inverter board and the backlight lamp.


The inverter board is a thin circuit board placed inside the LCD panel.

It's main function is to transfer power from the motherboard to the backlight bulb inside the LCD screen.


If the inverter board goes bad or the backlight lamp burns out, the screen will appear dim or eventually go completely black.


Turn off the laptop, unplug the power cable, close the LCD panel and place the laptop face down.

Remove the battery pack from its compartment on the bottom of the computer.


Flip the laptop back over and reopen the display panel all the way until it is in a 180-degree position.

Insert a flat head screwdriver into the right side of the keyboard bezel.


This is the plastic strip situated above the top row of keyboard keys. Carefully pry the bezel from the laptop.

Remove the two Phillips screws located above the top row of keyboard keys.


Grasp the top edge of the keyboard, tilt it upward and lay the keyboard face down on the palm rest area.

Unplug the keyboard's ribbon cable from the motherboard connector.


Carefully remove the entire keyboard from the laptop.

Disconnect the video and speaker cables extending from either side of the LCD panel to the motherboard.


Loosen the Phillips head screws on each LCD panel hinge.

Carefully lift the entire LCD panel off the laptop's base.


Relocate the panel to a flat work surface, and place the panel so the screen is facing upward.

Use a thin, flat head screwdriver to pry the rubber screw covers from the LCD panel's front plastic cover.


Remove the Phillips head screws revealed by the rubber covers.

Carefully remove the front plastic cover from the display panel.


Locate the inverter board situated below the LCD screen, inside the bottom edge of the display panel.

Disconnect the two cables from each end of the inverter.


Remove the two Phillips head screws fastening the inverter to the display panel.

Carefully lift the inverter board out of the display panel, and dispose of it.


Repeat this procedure in reverse to install the new inverter board, and reassemble the laptop.

LCD screen totally white when turn on


The HP is a flat screen monitor used with many desktop computers. When the LCD on your HP monitor goes white, it is an indication that your monitor's inverter board has gone bad. The inverter board is a small circuit board that transfers power from the monitor's main circuit board to the LCD screen. Replacing the inverter board means dismantling the HP monitor.

1. Power down your computer and unplug the HP monitor cable from the back of your desktop. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the monitor. Relocate the monitor to a flat work surface. Place the monitor with the screen facing downward.

2. Remove the Phillips-head screws from the monitor's base stand and from the back cover. Lift the base stand off of the monitor and remove the back cover. Peel away the foil from inside the monitor around the internal circuit board.

3. Locate the inverter board near the bottom of the monitor's casing. Unplug the power cables from either side of the inverter. Loosen the Phillips-head screws from the inverter board. Lift the old inverter out of the monitor's casing and set it aside.

4. Place the new inverter inside the monitor. Replace the Phillips-head screws and fasten it in place. Reconnect the power cables to the connectors on each side of the new inverter. Replace the foil around the outside of the main circuit board.

5. Replace the back panel and base stand, and their retaining Phillips-head screws

Thor Invertor comes on then shuts off


I guess you have checked that the wattage of the power lift is lower than the rating of the inverter. It will need to be at least 25% less at a guess possibly more as the starting current will be a lot higher than the rated value of the motor.

It may be fixable, I do quite a few of these though ebay. Power spikes can sometimes travel to bad places .

If you don’t have the startup sound when you plug it in, the main board may be bad.
If your picture was pinkish or dark at the top or bottom when it was working then you may have 1 or more of the bulbs failing.
If your picture wasn't pinkish or dark at the top or bottom when it was working, then it sounds like probably the inverter may have went. They are light light bulbs and have life expectancies on the capacitors.


To get to the inverter:
remove the stand
Take the 3 screws out of the bottom rear edge (these hold the front trim),and the 4 big black ones at the middle of the back
the the trim then unsnaps. {Be aware of the small ribbon to the power button board on the right edge} Start at the bottom and release the trim usually by gripping it on the lcd screen side with your fingertips and pulling outward, then work your way up each side from the back where the front trim meets the rear case. Work from the bottom to the top (a pocket knife or thin putty knife will help release the catches) You can also sharpen the edge of a credit card-(plastic is a little safer)
Then unsnap the top edge (rocking it while lifting helps)
Disconnect the ribbon, (Tiny latch lifts up on a hinge and ribbon slides out)
Once trim is off, remove the 4 corner screws that hold the screen in. Then the screen will lift out with all the guts. You may have to use a screwdriver like a crowbar in the corners to start the screen to lift up.
You’ll then have to remove a bunch of screws including the speaker ones and the usb board ones and unplug the bulbs and wire to the screen
then the inverter is under the center area under the metal cover
Shout if you need more info.
If you email me a good picture of the inverter , I may be able to get a better idea if it is the inverter from a visual.

Xantrex 2412 will not open my Chamberlain Lift Master Prof. door


That must be a pretty big door opener. Problem is probably the motor's starting current draw. Most AC induction motors pull 5 to 7 times their rated running current when starting from a dead stop. (about 7,820 watts) That's much more than the surge capacity of a 2.4 Kw inverter. Sounds like you need a bigger inverter or a smaller door motor.

Appropriate size inverter for sump pumps


First...you need to find the amperage on the pump...your inverter is rated for 6.25 Amps...(750/120)...you will need an inverter bigger then the pump..I would suggest at least 1.5 times the size of the pump..bear in mind,..the inverter wasnt designed to start motors...so oversizing is needed..

If your picture was pinkish or dark at the top or bottom when it was working then you may have 1 or more of the bulbs failing.

To get to the inverter:
Remove the stand.
Take the screws out of the bottom rear edge (these hold the front trim)
The the trim then unsnaps. {Be aware of the wire to the power button board on the bottom corner}
Start at the bottom and release the trim by lifting away from the glass of the screen from the center outwards to the corners, then work your way up each side bottom to top (a pocket knife or thin putty knife will help release the catches) These sides can be really tough to pop off especially the last top clip on each side.
Then unsnap the top edge (rocking it while lifting helps)
Disconnect the power button plug or unsrew the screws.
Once trim is off, remove the 4 corner screws that hold the screen in. Then the screen will lift up.
unplug the bulbs and wire to the screen (screen plug that goes into the metal case pulls out)
then the inverter is under the center area under the metal cover
Shout if you need more info.
If you email me a good picture of the inverter , I may be able to get a better idea if it is the inverter from a visual.
