Go to the device manager and check that the speakers are actually installed ie the sound system drivers. If they are not or they reporter problem then uninstall the sound drivers and restart your computer. As the computer restarts should reinstall the sound drivers, then see if you have sound coming out your speakers.
If this does not fix your problem then send me the details your computer e.g. make, model, sound card type, RAM etc

My touch ipod touch is fully charged, worked yesterday fine. Today the sound won't come thru my ear phones, can you help?

it seems like the headphones do not work anymore. Do you have any other headphones that you can use. You could also call the company that you got the headphones from and see if they can repair them or replace them for you. If you bought it from ebay or amazon just find the person you bought it from and ask them if you can send it back for a new pair.

I lost my boston acoustics ba735 software from my old computer and is there any other way that i can set them up on my new computer

The BA735 system used to come with some models of Gateway computers as part of the package. Unfortunately, they are a digital speaker and had to be used with the sound card provided so they would work. They won't work with the analog output that most computers provide. No special driver software is necessary, but you need a digital output from the computer.

Depending on the sound circuitry of the new computer, digital output may be available. Some higher-end systems with integrated sound may offer it, and it's often available on expansion audio boards that you can install in desktop systems. Check the audio settings menu in your system to see if digital output is provided.

These speakers sounded pretty good. Several times when people who had these systems upgraded, I installed the sound card from their old Gateways into the new computer so they could keep using the speakers. That doesn't work with the latest versions of Windows, though, because the hardware isn't compatible. But if you can find a digital audio source they'll still work for you.

Speakers will not "turn on",

Hi. You might want to try a different set of speakers or try the Altec Lansing on a different computer to isolate the issue. This can tell you if the problem is with the computer's sound card or your speakers. If the speakers won't work with any PC, try checking if the wires are all good and/ or soldered properly. Be cautious while doing this. make sure the speakers are not plugged in to any power source. I hope this helps. :-)

The problem on my speakers are that it won't turn on and the light for the volume control won't turn on. can i fix it or do i have to buy a new one ? please contact a.s.a,p thank you

Id try to find another power supply to plug into them with the same voltage. Usually 9-12 volts. Walmart, radio shack, or kmart have universal power supplies you can purchase to test them. Maybe keep the receipt and return it on the chance that it still doesnt work(in which case you'll need a new set of speakers).

Speakers were humming one day out of the blue. Had never done that before. Computer was on but not being used to listen to music or anything at that time. I unplugged speakers, re started computer. ...

Humming out of speakers can be caused by a ground loop, try plugging the speakers into a different outlet entirely (one that has a different ground than the one youre using currently).
