Has anyone tried the Sony EZ Audio transfer kit that was introduced at COMDEX in November? It's supposed to be a "solution in a box" for transfering LPs, cassettes, etc. to CD-R/CD-RW. For $50, you get software for transfering, editing and cleaning up pops and click, etc., and a cable to connect your sound system output to your PC.
There was a brief note about it in the New York Times "Circuits" section a few weeks ago, but no details. Sony's website just has the press release posted, but no details.
Does it work? Does it work well? Does it include RIAA contouring for transfering LPs, so only a turntable would be needed? Or is it necessary to use the output of a receiver or preamp with a phono section between the turntable and PC sound card input?
Do you know of any other "easy" systems for copying LPs to CD?

Take a look at Clean! 2.0 from Steinberg. I believe it may be just what you are looking for. Here's the link to Steinberg's web site. Click on the "6 Steps" icon for more program details. Steinberg is a major producer of music software and Clean! is a more consumer friendly version of it's high end professional restoration tools. A wave editor, Wavelab 2.0 Lite, is also included.
You can get the software at Amazon for $33. That's an incredible value for what it does. There's also a version that comes with a phono pre-amp, so you don't have to run your turntable through a receiver first when recording LPs. That version is called Clean! Plus 2.0 and costs $60.
