Unplug the cable that connects the computer and printer together.
Plug the printer power cord into a wall outlet.
Print a self-test to determine if the problem is related to the printer, rather than the software.
iF IT is software reinstall the printer driver software. Else
If the problem occurs on the self-test page, replace the toner cartridge. A faulty or damaged cartridge may cause black pages.
Remove all accessories (cartridges, memory, I/O boards, etc.) and try to print a self-test again. Faulty accessories may cause black pages to be produced.
If the problem persists, the printer may need to be serviced.

If the Fax Machinescopies are coming out black then there could be various cause.
1)The first thing to try is to clean the scanner.
If it's not getting any light from the LED.Then it will print black pages only.
2)There is a LED array that lights up when scanning. Either the LED array is defective or the scanner is defective.
3)You may have a worn out heat roller in the fuser.
4)It is also likely you have a bad toner cartridge.
Note:Here drum will not cause any problem heat roller is defective one.

Hi,
This is a copier. I guess you know that it isn't a fax machine. Don't think it has an LED like a fax machine/copier. The copies began coming out with about a one inch dark line across one side, now they are so dark all over the page that you can't even read the copy very well. I don't know if this changes your suggestion or not. Just providing more details for you. Thanks for your help. I'll order a new cartridge and see if that helps. I'll also try to clean the copier.
