When the steam valve is closed it still 'leaks' steam. When you try to make a coffe it makes the normal noise and grinds the coffee and then water comes out of the steam nozzle instead of the coffee dispenser.

Hello, i have a krups xp7220 and i have two problems with her.

A common place for a leak under the machine is the barista seal that goes in the bottom of the boiler around that eject rod. Barista seal part number is MS5002202, Seals on the tamping piston are MS5002040 (there can be 1 or 2 of these piston seals) If fixing the leaks does not fix error 6 then I expect it will end up being the distributor. Part number MS2A01500

I have an Ariete coffee machine the steamer takes along time to heat up not much steam coming out

if the steamer is not been in use for a ling time is possible tha the valve got stuck. You can try to open and close the steam handle repeating that very often while steam get out. if it does not work try to make a cicle of water mixed with salt, just start the coffe maker, warm up and start WITHOUT COFFEE, you repeat that several time to obtain clean water from the fiter, warm up for steam function and start to open-close the steam handle on the right of the coffee maker body. If that doese not helps you must change or repair the rubinet-valve of steamer, apply to assistence.

When you press the coffee button the machine grinds the beans, but then the water comes out the steam wand... please help

The problem is a very frequent one a small scale part have been moved and it stack to the water steam valve and it blocking it from closing completely. So when you make coffee the hose of water for coffee is in parallel with hot water steam wand and since the valve remains partially opened the water for coffee find easy escape from steam wand.

So we suggest to perform one more descale and it may need twice hopefully this small scale part to be dissolve a little bit more in order to pass thought the steam valve and thus the valve can close again completely. If you are not so lucky the part remain on the valve then only solution is to disassemble the machine thus clean the steam valve manually. In this solution you may find out that the valve o ring might be damage and thus the leak.
here is the link with steam valve parts and this the parts diagram of the machine and here many more for your machine

4 questions: #1...what are the 2 hoses for: I understand that one is needed to suction the water to the pump, but what about the shorter hose? #2...I am unable to get crema. I have adjusted my grind...

1; Second hose is for expansion valve from pump, in case there is excess pressure the water returns to the reservoir.

2; Either the coffee is stale or the amount of tamp pressure is not enough. Think of your grind coarseness rocks and sand, that will help you find the right grind.

3; No

4; Yes it is normal. You need a higher temp for steam than for coffee, therefore the thermostat on the machine is programmed to get the water in the boiler to steam temp when you ask for steam, a few seconds at the most.

My Saeco Incanto deluxe started dripping hot water from the steam spout outlet when coffee is brewing. It produces steam and hot water without any problems. It doesn't leak when it's in a normal state...

Either the grind is too fine and there is so much pressure that the pins in the steam valve are not working properly. First try to adjust grind a little coarser, it that does not work, then the pins in the steam valve need to be replaced.

Leaking steam valve rancilio miss audrey

you should take out the knob first, than you try to disasembke the SHAFT of valve from the valve body, in this types(small espresso coffe machines) usualy producer use conical valve, without seals she close metal to metal, when you get out the SHAFT you will see one line on the conical end. for repairing it will be enough to visit one metal vorkery where they will take a small amount of brass from end and polish it. then you put it back and work again with your machine.

ps: notice you only polish the SHAFT , dont let them to short the more than 0.5 mm

Where to fix my Gaggia

If you are unfamiliar with semi-automatic machines you might have neglected to prime the machine: open steam valve with a small container at the nozel, press coffee delivrery button and wait til water runs into the container, the close steam valve and water should come through shower head. This is very basic. If no solution then the head group might be jammed with old coffee grinds. See coffeegeeks forum on subject.
