I have a GE freezer, model number FUF20DPARWH that blows a ground fault circuit breaker when it goes into the defrost cycle. The case is not "hot" when this occurs and it is plugged into a circuit th

Ralph, the only way to be sure of what is going on is to check the amp draw of the freezer when it is in defrost. If the amp draw is in range ( listed on model/serial tag ) you may have a GFI that is weak.. if unit does not defrost there will be an ice buildup on the lower half of the back wall... But with unit tripping GFI it probably is defrosting............ Ken Hawk

Why a Frigidaire freezer seems to be stuck in defrost model number LFFU17F5HWC

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire freezer, model# LFFU17F5HWC, seems to be stuck in a defrost mode. Your freezer is supposed to automatically defrost for 30 minutes after every 12 hours of compressor run time. I suggest resetting your appliance, be either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and watch to see if it is still stuck in defrost mode. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Frezzer is only 2 yrs old and already has defrosted on its own what seems to cause that?

This machine has an automatic defrost cycle that comes on automatically 4 times a day. During defrost the compressor goes off and the heaters inside come on and melt the frost from the coils. In about 20 minutes heat shuts off and compressor comes back on and freezes againl

MY BJ 505 KEEPS KNOCKING OUT POWER AT HOME... AFTER I RESET THE TIMER BY TURNING THE DIAL ... IT RESETS AND POWER IS OK FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN

Are you talking about resetting the defrost timer? I would check to see if the defrost heater is shorted out tripping the breaker when it goes into defrost mode.

How do i reset the fridge it will not come on

Is the light coming on when you open the door? If not, check the breaker. Then check the outlet (plug in a lamp to see if it is good). If those are good, unplug the refrigerator, wait 10 minutes, the plug it back in. It could also be that the Defrost Timer is sticking/broken, stopping the compressor from coming back on after Defrost mode.

No power while plugged

It probably has a circuit breaker located on the bottom of the fridge, behind the front filter. Also try looking inside the refridgerator side at the top. It may be red colored to indicate it is safety-related. Just push it in - but don't be surprised if it trips again.

WARNING: RESET ONLY ONCE TO AVOID A FIRE OR ELECTROCUTION SITUATION.

You may have an internal problem, in which case the freezer's circuit breaker is your best friend!

Note that the self-defrosting freezers have a timer that shuts them off periodically so they can defrost. Sometimes the timer does the defrosting in the middle of the day, giving the appearance of a failure. This could be your problem.

Fridge and freezer not cooling down

It seems it's the defrost sensor (freezer side). Waiting for it to come, ordered this morning. It appears to be a defrost fault, having read on the web it seems you can check the defrost sensor with a meter across whilst holding the actual sensor in your hand tightly to see if the resistance changes, anyway it didn't. Will post when the new one comes and I change it.
