Question about Health & Beauty

1 Answer

I just started on a medicine for high blood pressure,Lisinopril. The warnings are not to take a salt substitute while on it, potasium being the concern. I am just getting over a sinus infection and usually take Airbourne to help shorten the time sick. Airboune has 79 ml of potasium is this amount ok? Also is it bad to eat foods with good amounts of potasium, bananas and potatoes?

I checked with my own Dr, I am a nurse on the payroll, he told me that you should be fine..... There are no reasons to take the med as well as the Airbourne, it is for a short time. If you have a blood pressure cuff, continue to take the meds and check the BP and make sure that you are in line, but if you dont, it would be recommended to get one anyway as you are now on a beta blocker for the BP. Be well and stay healthy, doing great!!! Guy

I have a bad headache. I take Lisinopril, Amlodipine and asprin 75mg. Can I take paracetamol forthe headache? The leaflet says not to take with asprin and if you have high blood pressure.

This needs a doctor's advice. I'd be very wary about taking an additional pain medicine with all that. You should think about d r ug interactions. A pharmacist may also be able to advise you.

Blood pressure is staying up over 140 over 78 head hurts body hurts most times 100

140/78 is not too bad and not considered high.
I had high blood pressure of 170/92.I controlled it by cutting out processed food and alcohol. In 2008 my father died and my bp went up. After a few months the doctors put me on bp tablets and told me I would be on them for life . Four months ago I stopped drinking alcohol and stopped eating bad stuff . Im two stone lighter now and my bp is stable. I have not taken BP tablets for 3 months now.
BP can raise because of salt intake, alcohol, stress and lack of sleep.
If your head hurts it is because your blood is pumping a little harder.I used to get lots of migraines.
Its easier to get tablets from the doctor but its best to look at yourself and self fix it.
