Question about Panasonic Cameras

2 Answers

I own a Lumix Panasonic DMC-ZS1, and am delighted with it. However, I must have pressed some of the buttons when handling it, and now all my photos are "fuzzy". Can you tell me what to do to go back to making good photos again ?

Your answer is what I already have in the Operating Instructions book, page 24.
But it does not tell me what to do, or what action to take. The reset pin hole
does not do anything either, and it may work only for model ZS3.

If you put the camera on "manual focus", the pics would probably be fuzzy. Go into your menu to the focus option and set it back on automatic. Some cameras have a shortcut to it, and that's probably what you did. Refer to your manual, and you will learn how to turn it on and off...manual focus is nice in certain conditions.
If it's not your settings, your focus ring inside the lens assembly could be stuck. Try spraying it out with compressed air, or bumping the camera gently with your palm to try to free it up.
Good luck, hope it's just a setting.

RESET
Reset to the default
settings.
RESET REC. SETTINGS?
YES/NO
RESET SETUP PARAMETERS?
YES/NO
• Information registered in ‘FACE RECOG.’ is reset if
recording settings are reset.
• Resetting SETUP parameters causes the following to be
reset:
Birthdays and names in ‘BABY’ and ‘PET’ scene modes,
‘TRAVEL DATE’, ‘WORLD TIME’, ‘ZOOM RESUME’,
‘FAVORITE’ in PLAYBACK menu (set to ‘OFF’), ‘ROTATE
DISP.’ (set to ‘ON’).
• Folder numbers and clock settings will not be reset.
• Camera movement may be audible as the lens function is
reset. This is not a fault

Or find the pin sized hole for factory reset. May have this option under your settings as well.

Sorry, but a driver won't help. The DMC-ZS1 is designed as a camera to store images and videos to memory, not as a webcam to stream live video to another device.

When you remove the card from the computer, do you use the "safely remove hardware" function? If you don't, the card can become corrupted enough that your camera no longer recognizes it.

Panasonic lumix DMC-ZS1 - won't record video

It might be telling you that the card you have in the camera isn't fast enough to keep up with the demands of a video recording. You need to buy a more expensive card with a faster speed rating.
