I work for the city of red deer, and we just purchased the GBC Pinnacle 27" laminator. We keep getting an error code ( Er.1 ) it dosent list this code in the manuel. We have tried calling the 7 different 1-800 numbers they give us with no results. Can you please explain how to fix this problem. Thanks!

At those prices they should come out and fix it for free. It sounds like the motor has failed or or is cutting out on an overheat thermal limiter. Reach out ot them for support.

left hand side cover is probably off and excess light is getting onto the motor speed sensor. put the side cover back on and try it, most likely that will fix it. could also be the set screw on the right side is loose, error 1 means you have a speed problem. check gears and chain. only other part that has caused this in the past is the keypanel.

Each heat shoe has a small thermal fuse, if either fuse is blown, the laminator keypanel will not operate. 99% fix everytime, just follow the wires from each heat shoe (right side of laminator) cover off. Ohm each set of wires and look for an open circuit. replace fuse (TCO) and it will work everytime......
