Toner rubbing off could be caused by a few things. First, make sure you are using proper paper and genuine dell toner. If both of these are true and the problem continues you may need to replace the fuser. The part number is M508D. has these in stock and ships same day. Here is a video that shows you how to replace the fuser.

The fuser in the top of the printer is probably defective. The fuser is what melts the toner into the paper. The guide that you talking about may be part of the fuser as well.

Those little squiggle marks are caused by a component in the toner cartridge. Some time ago the manufacturers changed a plain full width foam roller, to one that has a spiral of foam along its length. It was a means of shaving a few coppers off the manufacturing cost. It happens when the cartridge is a bit old (even though it might not have been used - some materials age) There are two solutions to this.

1. Change the cartridge.

2. Find an old cartridge with the old full width foam roller, and swap that (together with its supports) into the new cartridge. Works every time.

Toner not sticking to paper

If the toner rubs off the paper then the fuser unit is probably faulty. The fuser heats the toner/paper and fuses the toner to the paper.

Run the 1/2 print test.
Put paper in the manual feed tray. Print a few pages of anything. As the paper gets about 3/4 of the way into the printer, open the cartridge door. Pull out the cartridge and look down at the paper. If it has the black stripe on the left side, replace the toner. In fact at this point, pick up the toner cartridge and gently swing the shutter open and look at the drum. You should be able to see a black stripe on it.

By the way, the toner hasn't been fused to the paper at this point. It will rub off on hands and clothes.
If the 1/2 test shows no stripe on the paper...replace the fuser.

The printer is new, you should get in contact with Dell, as its under warranty
if dell has inconvenienced you that much, i would ask for free toner cartridge or something of value to compensate : they usally do that for customers

review the firmware information for the printer , see if you have the latest version, if not go to this link to download

may this serve you well !

Dell 3110cn Color Laser Printer Certain colors will not adhere to the page when printed on heavy paper. Combination of green/black wipes off the paper when rubbed.

Either the paper is just too thick for the printer to fuse the toner correctly, or you've NOT selected the right paper type (in the printer driver options.

If you're just printing that same as you would on ordinary A4 paper, the fuser can't get enough heat through the thick paper to fuse the toner.

May be a wrong toner problem if you've done this successfully before, but only had this problem since changing toner cartridge(s)

My DELL 3010CN is printing a thick black line on the right hand margin on all pages printed.

Often Toner sticks to fuser. When the fuser heats the toner comes off onto the paper. Should reduce over time unless toner is spilling onto the fuser in the same place.

Change fuser and toner

Black streaks on copies from bypass tray and tray w/thick paper

Most likely you may of had a toner spill awhile ago and the toner may be biult up with in the paper path and it is draging in it. Also, it may have to do with the drum pick off claw unit. The paper may be rubbing against the unit with thicker paper. I would have your service person clean the whole paper path of lose toner and if they can bring another drum unit to test if the problem is in the drum unit it self. Good Luck

No Print on Paper

It sounds like you need a new electron or electrode I forget exactly what they call it, this negatively charges the paper as it passes over the positively charged toner drum allowing toner too stick to the paper where required, the lower the negative charge is the less toner that can positively stick to the paper, creating a light black or grey print. This generally occurs with age but should not be too hard to replace by yourself, just expensive.
