Question about NetGear WGR614 Router

2 Answers

I am unable to reset the default password on my NetGear WGR614 router. I have read all the guides available, which mainly say to hold the reset button for 10 seconds etc, but I am still unable to login using "admin" & "password"! I am concerned as most guides say the "test" light will blink while I am holding the button down but my light does not blink, it lights up when I press the button in the same way it would when it is switched on or a config change has occured. After "resetting" I am taken to a page claiming to allow me to set the SSID, WPA key & router password, which will set the SSID and key, but not the router password. After submitting this page I'm forwarded from 192.168.1.1 to www.routerlogin.com (which I think resolves to 192.168.1.1 anyway). The second page has the same form as the first, but asks for the user name and password to authentice on the router. I enter "admin" & "password" (after having set the password to "password" on the previous page) but it will not authenticate me. Just keeps asking for username and password. Google searches for this problem have not returned any useful results. Please someone help me!

Open browser and type in 192.168.0.1 or perhaps 192.168.1.1 -- when the router displays it will ask for a password. if you had one and can't remember it do a hard reset to return to factory settings. then log into it leaving the username blank with the default factory password. many times that password is admin -- download the owner's manual that will have the default password and instructions and explanations for the settings, including how to do a "hard, factory" reset for free at the manufacturer's website. try the help, support, or download sections. the drivers are there too.

Netgear WGR614 v6; where is the hard reset button, procedure to reset

Write down configuration information such as IP addresses, security keys, opened ports and services, etc., that you modified. (The default username is admin and the password is either password or 1234. )
Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
    1. Release the button.
    2. Wait for the router to reboot.
    3. Log in with the default password.
If the router was not cleared, try these additional steps AFTER the router has finished rebooting.
    1. Unplug the router's power.
    2. Press and hold the reset button. While the button is held down, reconnect router's power.
    3. Continue to hold the reset button for 20 seconds after reconnecting the power.
    4. Wait for the router to reboot.
Log in with the default password

Having trouble accessing router with ipod touch and nintindo dsi

    Hi,

In order to Unlock Netgear router you need to know the login password for router's login page and if that does not work, you can try with a default username : admin, Password : admin, still if you are unable to access the routers page then you need to reset the router by inserting a pin in the pinhole where it says reset at the back of the router...press and hold down the pin for 30 seconds and then restart the router, this will take the router back to default settings and then apply username : admin and password : admin....it should work

Netgear address : 192.168.0.1 ( Type in IE address bar to access it )

    Regards,
    Anup
