Question about Solis Crema SL-90 Espresso Machine

Open Question

I have a Solis SL90 that the temerature "sensor" on the boiler fell apart. This is not the 150°C thermocouple. Empire has it on back order for a couple of months now. The element itself appears to be a "potted" thermistor or something similar. There are color code bands on it similer to a resistor. Does anyone know what would be a replacement part or comparable device that could be used? By the way, I notice that others have issues with the pump running but no heat. Mine every couple of years will do this. I found that one of the leads on the power transitor that solders to the board either overheats or corrodes to the point where it no longer conducts power. I just resolder the leads, and wa la, good for a couple of more years. I have had this machine for ?10 to 12? years and have run anywhere from 3 to 8 cycles a day. Great machine.

SOURCE: Solis Cream SL90 not heating water

Yes, it is possible that the thermostat tripped or is damaged. If thermostat is not damaged then elements might be damaged.

Hi. Can you tell me is it possible to change the boiler temperature in my Solis Master 5000 (not digital). Cos the temperature of just prepared coffee is low enough that I can drink it with one sip.

Hi
Masters are usually too hot, and its unusual for one to be cool. It could be the sensor on the back of the boiler. Its the double orange wires. It might have to be replaced. When your in there check the boiler for white line by the seam of the boiler just to be sure.

Trouble installing replcement gasket in Solis Crema SL 70

SL 70/90 Brew Head Gasket Replacement Time 1 to 2 hrs Tools # 2 allen wrench # 1 Phillips screw driver # 2 Phillips screw driver # 13mm wrench First unplug the machine. Next remove the screw in the top back of the machine. Push the top forward with your fingers. This unlocks the top and it can be placed behind the machine with the wire connected. Next rotate the steam knob counter clockwise till it stops. Inside next to the micro switch there is a brown cam. On the backside of the cam is the #2 allen screw. Loosen this screw and the rotate the steam knob clockwise until it is removed. Now remove the clip on the steam manifold that holds the steam wand. There may be a plastic tie that is securing the clip. Cut it. Pull out the steam wand and let it rest on the bottom cover. Next remove the 4 large screws that hold the cover plate around the brew head. This will allow the cover plate to drop down and swivel on the steam wand, exposing the nuts that hold the boiler on the bottom metal plate. The nuts that hold the boiler on are # 8. Before you loosen the nuts you need to remove the water inlet nut on the side of the boiler. It is a #13 wrench. Remove the water line. Now remove the nuts that hold the boiler on.

Grinder not working on my solis master 5000

Order the replacement boiler, (be sure to empty all of the hot water from the boiler first using the hot water function on the right side of your Solis) take your time and open the machine up, the top comes off. There are 3 mounting screws that hold the boiler in place, remove them, be sure to take hold of the boiler before removing the last mounting screw. Remove and replace the wires and 2 water hoses (w/clips). The orange wires the connect to a unique plastic harness are clipped into the harness. Look closely and you'll see a little window in the plastic harness at the end of each orange wire. Use a tooth pick or a pointed device and push the metal clips thru these windows, this unlocks the wires for removal from the boiler.

SL 90 Machine not heating

Hi There are 3 things that could be the problem. 1. The power board on the left rear inside. 2. Heating element is burnt out. Replace the top part of the boiler and order a brew head gasket and replace it at the same time while you have the machine apart. 3. and less likely is the temperature sensor. 2 red wires goes from the board to the top of the boiler.
