Question about BenQ FP731 - 17" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Hi! I own a 24" benq G2411HD widescreen monitor, and have had no problems with it up till now. Out of the blue it starts changing Modes, as if the buttons on the monitor were bugged/pushed in or destroyed somehow. It's really annoyoing and distracting. Usally triggers when i am inside a game. Appriciate ANY tips very much...

Sijobr, AC to DC "switch-mode-power-supply" may have failing, swollen, leaky electrolytic filter capacitors on the printed circuit board that will need replacing with new ones. If unit not covered by warranty, you or electronics technician will need to do the investigation and repair work to power supply. Reply by doing additional comment to me of your intentions after you do some reading and following links found in the fixya profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" (me).

Ok, thanks for you're inthoughts 12fixlouie. It's clearly something wrong with the monitor, as i tried first to plug it in my second entering to the computer (I have two), but the problem still remained. Now i am using my old 17"CRT, and the flashing is obviously not there anymore.

My intentions are to call benq company itself and see if their good for any help, or have it fixed through warranty as it is only 1year old.

Yes, use warranty first!!!! Make them give you new unit or refurbished unit. Do not Pay them any money for unit that should not fail "prematurely" due to low quality components and poor workmanship!!! Keep me informed on status of your Benq repair/replacement Quest.

My monitor shows blue colour...how to reset that?

This product is supposed to have adjustable low blue light levels. And here is quote to ponder: Also, With the help of its six proprietary calibration techniques, Sensei 3 delivers only the best viewing quality in each of its pre-set viewing modes -Standard, Movie, Game, Photo, sRGB, Reading, M-book and Eco. So, you have these 8 viewing modes as well as 6 calibration techniques. I guess you choose your pre-set and then tweak away once you find your way into the calibration settings.

Here is a user manual for the monitor: http://www.benq.com.au/support/downloads/download.cfm?file=lcdmonitor/manual/gl2040m/lcd%20monitor_um_user%20manual_20100903_143905gl40_41(a)m_en.pdf

You have to dig into the calibration settings and I wrecklessly assume the user manual will point the way to those settings.

I install window 7 but my benq 15" lcd monitar's screen rosuation not competible. pls guide me how i increase the rosulation thnx

As for your 15" LCD BENQ Monitor, "1024 x 768" pixels is the Maximum Resolution
If you increase your screen higher than the Maximum resolution you get a black screen! because the monitor cannot support the resolution higher than "1024x768" pixels.

How to change your screen resolution Win 7-> Link

FYI
Here are typical resolutions for some popular screen sizes
19-inch screen (standard ratio): 1280 x 1024 pixels
20-inch screen (standard ratio): 1600 x 1200 pixels
22-inch screen (widescreen): 1680 x 1050 pixels
24-inch screen (widescreen): 1900 x 1200 pixels

Hope it helps.

BenQ FP241W 24" inch problem with HDMI connection

Sounds like the HDMI port on the monitor has been shorted out.
There are very small fuses on the video board that can be changed, but they are fiddly and you may end up doing more harm then good if you are not sure what your doing.
The fuses are actually soldered to the board...it's not a case of pop one out and pop one in like the glass type.

Hope it helps =)
