Question about Canon IXUS V2 Digital Camera
The error can come from the camera interface, the camera connector, the cable, your computer connector or the USB port.
Your pictures should be safely on a memory card so if nothing else you can use a card reader to transfer direct from the card to the pc.
To find out what is causing the error you just need to try a few things. Try the camera on a different port on your computer that may mean just a port error . Try it on a different computer. That rules out ports. Try it with a new cable. Basically you want to be able to say it wasn't this part because it didn't change when I did this. If all of a sudden it works or is just detected after using a new cable then you can be sure that was the problem. If nothing makes it work then the problem in the camera. Unless it is under warranty it will not be worth getting fixed. It would cost more than a new camera. If you buy or have a card reader (they cost about $5-$10) and can transfer then keep on using the camera. When it stops taking pictures then worry about a new one.
