You have the television on sleep mode. You'll have to disengage the sleep function! Most tv have this option so that you can go ahead and snooze for a while and the tv will turn itself off!

LAPTOP WILL NOT COME OUT OF 'SLEEP' MODE

Turn it on, then wait, u will hear the computer turning itself on and off, but nothing is showing on the screen. so make it turn on and off, 3 time.( such as hearing the computer turned off, so that one,THEN IT TURNS ITSELF ON AGAIN, next time it turns off, that count as 2, and so on). on the third shut off then u press and hold the off button, to force it to shut down, then wait. about 5-10min., or less then 5. after then u turn the computer on.it should be on by now. if not try it again. if it happens again try one more time, if it happens again. then there something really wrong with your computer.

INSIGNIA 26" FLAT SCREEN MODEL #246ALC27FB26006527

These LCDs have a feature to turn OFF after some time if they do not sense any signal getting into the TV, that is why when you use it as a PC monitor and leave ON; it will turn OFF by itself.
The short term solution to make the LCD power up properly when using it as a PC monitor would be to unplug it when it turns OFF by itself and plug it back in.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Television turned itself off and won't come back on again

Tracy it sounds like a power supply problem, not anything you have done. This day and age the new electronics are only built for min running requirement, as in the working capacity of the power supply. Not like a few years ago when things where built to last and some still do.

It has a standby mode thats why most things have a led to show you if its on or off. This only come about for some reasons and that was to keep the old Tube Type Teleivision warm so you have instant picture, if you have turned this type of teleivision off at the wall it would take a few minutes to get a lets say a stable picture.
Enough of showing my age.

But this means the the powersupply is only in sleep mode only and uses bare min, to run and when you push the power on button you have life and then your picture.
Try this if and when it comes on and stays on, then it goes off on you, turn it off from at the wall and leave it for 5-10 min and try again, if it comes alive its a heat problem in the supply and maybe a dry joint which needs to be looked at.
If it does not try turning off and on at the set not at the remote, it could be the remote section is not working properly and have the same sort of fault. If you think it could be in the set up, try your sleep mode set up, it could be turned on, so check if the TV goes off at the same time say 5 min's everytime??

If it's the first fault you will have to get it back under warranty very quickly, these are inherent problems, companies want the dollar and not so much the quaility you get....

I hope I have helped???
P.s. if its the type where you have a power lead that plugs into the set and the wall Check that too, I have fixed many of things because the moulded lead has let the pins inside them open up..
Think basic first ok!
