What would cause new fuse to blow when powering on (Sony STR-DN1030 Receiver).

Look in the circuit board area where the power cord mates with it for capacitors that have bulging tops (instead of the flat tops that are normal). If you see even one, you need to replace all the large capacitors othe power supply section (normally around 5 or 6).

I try to turn the tv on but there is no power.

check the incoming power with a tester and if ok then check the plug fuse and if burnt replace and if ok proceed to open the tv cover and check the cable continuityand check the fuse in the power supply region if blown, check other components inthe power supply area and replace the faulty ones if any then open the fuse in the power supply and connect a 100w test lamp to see if there is a short circuit. if the bulb lights up and gets dim gradually you ca now remove the lamp and put backthe fuse and test again

however, your tv problem could be solved by simply replacing a burnt fuse but its always advisable to verify the cause of the blown fuse

I have a alpine cda-9886 and 2 days ago while i was driving the thing just turned off outta nowhere i checked the fuses and the battery

there should be an inline fuse that is on the back of the radio. i know I would hate to do this too but I would take the radio out check the fuse on the back of the radio along with the inline fuse in the cables. Also you need to check your connections mainly your power cables. Make sure that they are not touching ground and make sure that all of your wires are reinforced with electrical tape. TV will not power on. Check supply to set and it is fine. Tried remote and local power switch. Is there an internal reset? The unit is a LG 37 inch LCD approx. 1.5 years old.

There is not an internal reset for this. You would need to check what voltages you are getting from the secondary side of the power supply, this would then indicate if the problem is with the main board not starting up the system or if the power supply has a fault. If you have a multimeter then you can carefully check for 24v 5v & 12v supplies. If you are not getting any voltages then the primary side of the power supply may be at fault. The first thing to check would be the fuse at the incoming mains supply on the power board, if this has blown then suspect one of the senmi-conductors & check to see if any of the capacitors are swoolen if so replace them.

Tv has no power

This could be caused by several things, the fuse in the plug or the internal fuse in the TV might have blown, if so this could have been caused by an electrical which means once replaced should be ok. However there is the probablity that a short circuit in the power supply has caused this. You will need to use a multi-meter & check if you have an incoming voltage from the mains & then through the on/off switch. If so, check what voltage supplies you are getting from the power supply. It is possible a supply resistor is open circuit or a semi-conductor component is at fault such as a transistor or diode. You need to extremely careful when checking power supplies as some components can hold a high voltage charge. If you do not feel confident to do this then I advise having a service engineer to have a look at it.

Hi my yellow battery lead with the fuse

Are you using AMPs? You may have everything connected right but, when you turn it on the battery doesn't have enough supply to operate the system. This happen to me and I had to change my alternator, and battery.

Panasonic plasma th-42px25 turns itself off after 45 sec. and starts blinking power led light

The condition of your TV called power supply overcurrent shutdown. The TV is going into a protection mode to prevent further circuit damage. That's why it will not turn on or not powering up. I would concentrate on the power supply section board. Bad regulation of the incoming voltage could caused this issue although, there is a capacitor across the incoming line and nuetral.Maybe its leak or dry up and cause the problems, change it out with one of identical rating .I would probably also check the flyback circuit and flyback transformer although now you are getting into dangerous area, especially if you have no electronic experience background. It could be also be a loose ,crack or cold solder joint,a blown fuse, fusible links or other component .It could be one of several boards.Unfortunately the level of sophistication on these TV make it virtually impossible to diagnose them further without taking them apart and probing around with a multimeter and other tools. This TV is handy enough to take to a repair shop find a good one.You will probably have to pay $75 to $100....

Hope this may help you..

Blown fuses

This is a sign the you have poor voltage regulation. Which may mean that you are taxing the electrical system of your vehicle. I would suggest you adding a secondary electrical supply for you audio system. This can be done by adding an extra alternator and voltage regulator and battery supply. This will allow you to drive your audio system without having it (power supply) split between the vehicle and the audio system. The fact is your system is drawing to much current for the unit and your vehicle. You are blowing the 20-amp fuses which means the the amp is creating a currnet draw which is past the rated value of the fuses, which if done too many times could damage the power amp components in the unit. I would also check the ohmage reating on the speakers connect to the unit since you may have the wrong impedance which may also cause excessive current draw and actuate some sort of overcurrent protection.
