Hi there,

Well if your dryer tumbles, but there is no heat then you may please check out the following -
1. First of all you can check out for proper air flow - Check the vent for proper air flow by placing your hand over the exterior vent while the dryer is running. You should feel a strong flow of air. If not then check the lint trap. It is located either on top of the dryer or possibly just inside the door. Remove any lint that has built up in the lint trap. Cleaning the lint trap should be done regularly, even as often as after every load. Do not operate the dryer without a lint trap in place.
2. Secondly you can check out the Ignitor - gas dryer blows air through a burner assembly to heat the air. The burner assembly consists essentially of a gas valve, ignitor and a flame sensor. If any part of the burner assembly malfunctions, the result will be low or no heat and slow drying of the clothes.

Roper Super Capacity natural gas dryer works but doesn't heat up

Hi

If your dryer is not heating, then check if the power cord is plugged into the wall. It may be loose or disconnected. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working. Now, check whether the heating element in your gas dryer is burned out by using an ohm meter to check for continuity. If the continuity is not there then you would need to replace the element. After checking the element, check out the thermal fuse to see if it's burned out. The thermal fuse is attached to the exhaust duct on the back panel of the gas dryer. It's usually surrounded by a black resin material situated in a housing made of white plastic. If the fuse looks like it's blown, then it needs to be replaced.

Now, check the igniter, there is a plastic connector attaching the igniter to the burner. Disconnect this and place the probes onto the two contacts of the igniter. The meter should read under 100 Ohms of resistance. If the reading is above 100 ohms then igniter is bad. If the igniter passes the test then you need to test continuity on the flame sensor. You should have continuity between the two contacts. If not, then you need to replace the flame sensor. The sensors are usually located close by the igniter so are easily visible. Hope this helps...

Roper RGX5634KQ2 Dryer will fire initially, and heat up. It will stay fired up for around 1-2 minutes, and go out. After another couple minutes, the igniter fires, but there is no flame. This continues...

Could be a coil...but I have learned that it usually is the ignitor...

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

gass dryers have what they call an igniter it is either electronic or a ceramic stater check to see if it sparks or if in case its ceramic it glows look by the gas inlet and determin which one you have the ceramic igniter looks like a little torpito it just un clips the electronic starter takes a little knowlege allways disconect power before servicing good luck

Is ther a pilot light my roper rgs7648kq2 dryer is not heating up what could the problem be

All modern gas dryers use a hot surface igniton system(very old dryers had pilots). There could be a problem with the igniter, gas valve, ect. If you remove the bottom cover panel or inspection cap you can check to see if the hot surface igniter starts to glow when dryer is intially started. Just because the igniter does not glow does not mean that the igniter is the problem. There are two gas valves that work in conjunction with the ignition system as a safety(one could be defective). Also make sure that the gas connector at the back of the dryer is not restricted(kinked) and the gas line valve did not get shut off some how.

You may have gotten water in your igniter or pilot light. Put a hair dryer to the areas where the pilot and igniter and burner is so that it can be fried out.

If you feel confident

Do you get a "glow" the glow (orange in color) is for the gas to be ignited?
.1 No glow indicates a no voltage problem to the burner or the igniter is out. Confirm power to the gas valve area 110V usually. If you have voltage the problem is somewhere in the area your in; probably the igniter.

2 If you don't have 110 Volts the problem is in the controls. The fuse link, the timer contacts, the centrifugal switch on the motor, and the heater safety thermostat and operating (s), are all suspect and have to be eliminated 1 by 1.

Hope this helps. With any luck all you need is a new igniter.

Clean the duct out while replacing the igniter if so because the main thing that causes igniter burn out is low air flow. A kinked Dryer vent hose, lint, and plugged up fan circulator on the motor, or if yours has little holes in the inside cabinet where the air is taken to be heated and recirculated, these can get clogged with lint also and cause a problem are the 4 main causes of low air flow..

Hope this helps and please rate me accordingly Thank you and good luck.
