Just click on the "resolve now" button on the Windows Genuine Advantage pop-up window, and read the on-screen prompts on how to get a "genuine" copy of Windows.

Or, if you purchased the computer from a computer-store, and they "pre-installed" Windows, go back to them, and get them to fix it.
If they don't, call 1-800-R-U-LEGIT and report that store for selling "pirate" versions of Microsoft software.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I am A victim of software counterfeiting. how ca i resolve this?

Well if you knowingly installed a copy from a friend or so then it could possible be a counterfeit copy...
However if you know that it is a genuine copy and you got the error message recently then contact microsoft, i have had this occur on people who actually bought there computer from a store, using "windows 7" but its the same technology used to detect the validation of your Windows so the system dont really matter, it would normally pop up after the update and then inform of a software fraud and a counterfeit copy may be installed and they had to call microsoft for resolution, they knew about it, but i never heard of it affecting XP.
Give microsoft a call if you know it is a genuine copy and they can resolve the issue for you...

The only way you will ever get to get rid of that annoying counterfeit message is to install a genuine windows software, i.e. you need to purchase a unique windows software/CD for that pc. If you purchase the windows software, then during installation, in which you much boot from CD/DVD drive, you must select repair. That way all your documents will be preserved intact for you. The counterfeit message really simply is saying to you that, “look, this copy of the windows is actually owned by someone else and has been registered as such on Microsoft server.” Microsoft requires that each PC have a unique CD/software.

To temporarily bypass the problem you can do a system restore to a date before you started having the problem.
If that does not work, boot to safe mode after downloading and installing HijackThis. Start Hijack this software (utility to modify registry values) and scroll down registry entries to the line that says “020 - Winlogon Nofity: Wgalogon - …” select it, and click fix checked.

If you think that your isystem is counterfeit and you had been victim of a scam you should contact the person that sold you the computer, and then contact Microsoft.
See Microsoft Help and Support.

Ask for genuine microsoft software

This means you have a pirated version of Windows XP, since you probably already know this, I'm going to tell you that it can be circumvented by downloading a piece of software from a P2P networking site. I'm not going any farther than that though since it's illegal.
