SOURCE: Washer - soap dispenser door - Magnet fell out... where does it go

I had the same problem. If you turn the dispenser so that the front faces away from you, look on the left side in the front. half way up there is a space with what looks like a plastic clip that might hold the dispenser to the front bezel. This actually holds the magnet, which can be installed without taking the dispenser apart. Be sure to install (pop in) the magnet vertically so that the long part of the magnet sits next to the right side of the dispenser opening (when viewed from the front) when the drawer is closed.

SOURCE: kenmore front load washer is leaking water from soap

We had a similar problem with water coming out of the soap dispenser when the washer was run. I assumed that it was a problem with the water draining as everyone else posted here. I took off the front panel, got rid of the junk and drained it. Although this was great, it did not solve the original problem. It turns out that there was a sock stuck in between where the water comes out of the soap dispenser and in to the main compartment. Pulled it out with a needle nose plier and good to go. Thanks to everyone for their input here.

Soap dispenser will not stay closed\

Good Morning D, thank you for your post!

I understand the soap dispenser is not closing properly. There is a simple troubleshooting test you can do to see if you can remedy the situation.

  • ·If you've double-checked the drawer and it appears to be closed, remove the drawer and examine the magnet. If the magnet is missing or defective, the magnet probably needs replacing.

  • ·If the magnet is fine and in place, an experienced technician may need to examine the reed switch or main control board.

  • Since there are cost differences in parts and accessories, it is always a good idea to have a service tech properly diagnose your washer.

Where does the magnet go on a model number ltf2940es

Good Morning Annie, thank you for your post!

Generally speaking, the magnet is located in the dispenser drawer. Double check the drawer and if it is closed, remove the drawer and examine the placement of the magnet and reinstall. If the magnet is missing or defective, the magnet probably needs replacing. However, if the magnet is in good condition and in place, an experienced technician may need to examine the reed switch or main control board.

DDO indicates on the display. Found a magnet that came off of the door dispenser, where does it go on the dispenser?

This is a door sensing magnet . When its in its place it tells the machine that the detergent dispensor is closed and will alow the machine to fill detergent dispensor it goes in the upper right corner of the detergent dispensor handle ... where location 49 is on attatchment newer models have done away with the magnet and the reed switch that senses the magnet this can be jumped out permanetly on the backside of the control panel where the detergent dispensor comes in is a white supository called a reed switch cut this and splice the two wires together and you never have to worry about losing the magnet again... or purchase new control without reed switch......you can always call for tech assistance dr.appliance dr_appliance.png

Washer is reading ddo. what does that mean?

Hi
Error DDO means dispenser drawer open. This error appears when the washer senses that the dispenser door is not closed. If the dispenser door seems to be closed then it seems to be an issue with the magnet. There is a little magnet attached to the right hand side of the detergent drawer which activates a reed switch & signals the washer that the drawer is closed. This magnet might have moved from its place and that's why you are getting error DDO. Pull the drawer out and check the handle part for a magnet. When the drawer is closed the magnet activates a switch in the console that tells the control the detergent drawer is closed. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Our magnet fell out, where does it go

If you are talking about a small, rectangular magnet, about a 1/16" think or so, it goes in the detergent dispenser drawer. Looking at the front of the drawer, right side, a little behind the front. This magnet triggers a ( or should if its not falied) a magnetic reed switch which allows the washer to operate only if the drawer is closed.

If you take the drawer out, and remove the front, you will see where it goes.

Frigidaire Front load washer with ''ddo'' code

The DDO trouble code means that the detergent(D) dispenser(D) door is not closed properly((O)open).
The door uses a reed switch and a magnet to send the door closed signal to the control card.If the
magnet becomes dislodged you will get this code. You will need to have the magnet replaced in
its proper position to clear this code.

E10 error

Hi there,

The E10 error indicates that one of a group of error codes occurred. The specific code could have been one of the following:
E11 - Fill time too long. (See test 1 below)
E13 - Water leak in the tub or air leak in the air bell. (See test 2 below)
E14 - Dispenser drawer reed switch is open. (See test 3 below)

To recall the specific fault code from this group, follow these steps:
Wake the machine by pressing any button
Wait 5 seconds
Press and hold the Start and Pause/Cancel buttons simultaneously
All LEDs will go blank and after a few seconds the control will signal the stored code

Based on the specific error code, follow the specified test and troubleshooting.

The magnet for the dispenser drawer reed switch is shown in the second image below. If this magnet is missing, you will get the E14 code.

Some of the troubleshooting provided is intended for service technicians. Do not conduct any test or troubleshooting that you are not completely confident that you can safely complete. Unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

Good Luck!!

Thanks

"OP" ERROR CODE

Take a look at this post, it’s for troubleshooting an OD alarm but you can follow the same troubleshooting path to see if you have a lid magnet out of position or a broken lead on the magnetic reed relay located in the left lid lock. The lid magnet operates the magnetic reed relay to signal the lid is closed/the lid is open. Try an external magnet on the left bumper and see if that clears the OP error code with the lid open. If it doesn’t I would try reseating the left lid lock plug (possible corrosion issues). If that doesn’t clear the OP alarm it would be time to pull the life lid lock out of the machine and inspect for a broken lead on the magnetic reed relay or other corrosion issues with the left lid lock. The left lid lock is in a location near the bleach dispenser. Links to the SM are in that post and a link for parts look up. Post back if you have questions

FRIGIDAIRE FRONT LOAD WASHER

I too had the same problem, I closed the soap tray and a magnet popped out and got stuck to the door. Same problem with it acting like it was going to start and then beeped. This is where the magnet goes, just stick it back in, its held in with pressure (barely) :)

I took the whole control panel off to locate the magnetic reed switch, then just reverse engineered where the magnet is supposed to go on the soap drawer.
