Question about GE Refrigerators

1 Answer

We have a ge refrigerator that is only 2 years old. The rubber seal seems to be coming out of the door and is no longer sealing properly when the door is shut. We have to put a chair up against the door to keep our dog from using his head to open the fridge door. What do we do to get it to seal properly?

Refrigerator door seal has gap, and the alarm keeps going off

My refrigerator as delivered had noticeable gaps in the sealing gasket. The solution is to adjust the doors to eliminate the gap. The door hinges allow for adjustment by loosening hardware, adjusting, and tightening hardware again.

is this a u-line? Or a GE? If its a U-line make sure the freezer door is closing and sealing. If its a GE then check the gasket and make sure that is sealing.

Constance condensation on the frezzer department. Had GE service and all he did was warm up the rubber seal on the ice despenser door. But it still frezes up. There is no sign of condensation by the ice...

condensation in the compartment indicates that the door seal is not sealing properly or the door needs adjustment
it is from moisture in the air coming out of the air as the temperature cools the air down inside the compartment
problems that cause that are -:
opening the door too often
humidity levels high in the room
door seals faulty
door needs adjustment

not enough insulation in the door would only mean that the compressor is running more often or constantly but will have no affect on the condensation problem

Door to refrigerator will not close properly.

The refrigerator door seal is being broken when you open the freezer door? Sounds like the rubber magnetic strip needs to be replaced on the refrig. door, they wear out after a number of years.

Washer

I have notice this problem with a lot of front loaders. I would check the manufacture warranty to see with is covered and if you bought an extended warranty, use it, keep your receipts for your previous purchases.
