I think you are talking about the front roller. It has a rubber sleeve that helps to grip the walking belt. Sometimes you can tighten this enough to keep it from slipping but you run the risk of overtightening and damaging both rollers. We recomend replacing that roller.

My Proform Crosswalk 395 Treadmill will turn on but belt does not. We just moved it from the garage into the house.

Question edited for maker name.
Question moved from Building Materials to a Proform Crosswalk category.

Either the belt is too slack or it needs to be reset.

Proform 9000 trips power as soon as we turn it on. Anyone else had this issue?

Unplug the treadmill from the surge suppressor and plug in a typical house vacuum.

Turn on vacuum. If breaker does not trip from the vacuum then treadmill power supply is likely kaput.

If breaker trips then likely it's not the treadmill. Bypass surge suppressor by plugging vacuum directly into same wall outlet as the suppressor. If breaker again trips, it's not the suppressor and more likely there is some type of circuit overload or other fault in the house branch circuit.

Surge protector was blinking. smelled a little electrical burn odor. pluged tv directly to wall..all I hear ia a click noise..nothing lights up . help!

The surge protector has likely committed suicide... or died by homicide. In other words, it may have done its job, or been fried trying. Either the breaker/fuse inside melted by design due to a surge, or it died.

A surge protector is only designed to protect you from many small/everyday surges, or ONE BIG ONE. The cumulative wear of small surges will eventually kill them as well. They don't last forever, and some experts recommend replacing them every 3 years or so for safety/performance.

Some surge protectors have a reset switch or a replaceable fuse, but since you smelled something burning, I highly recommend tossing it in the garbage (if not still on fire, hee hee), and get a new surge protector for safety. Your house is worth the $25+. If you have had any other electrical issues in your home lately, get an electrician to do a quick safety inspection as well. Be safe!

PS: Not all surge protectors are created equal. Look for one that has "lighting protection" and costs at least $20-25 , or you likely don't have decent protection (the ones I buy are usually $30-$35, but I watch for sales and keep an extra on hand). Never overload a surge protector or wall outlet. Read the manual for the total watts, etc. supported. And don't expect to collect on the $50,000 equipment damage guarantee some surge protectors promise.

Surge protector shuts off while playing PS3

swap to another surge protector. if it still does it, it is a power surge at the outlet, if it does not, the Surge Proctector has worn out. have someone with the appropriate knowlege have a look at the outlet as well. older outlets especially tend to wear to the point where the plug literally falls out of the wall.
