Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

When I tap on the keyboard, plenty of '0' appears automatically, as if the '0' is pressed deliberately for long period of time. It is very annoying and my typing takes time as I have to go back and keep on deleting these zeroes. What could be the problem? Thanks, Reah

Have a NOKIA RM-520 OLDER MODEL FLIP OPEN TYPE DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE KEYS FOR SPACING AND SPEAKER

Hello Fred Farrell,

It has been a long time ... SPACE bar is
accomplished by pressing the "0" key (zero)...

As for the Speaker ... the ICON
does not appear unless you are on
an ESTABLISHED call.

It will appear as a "SOFT" key on your screen
by tapping the appropriate key at the top of your
KEYBOARD (LEFT & RIGHT OF center wheel).

Cursor won't move

If your iPad otherwise works normally (i.e. the touchscreen is fine), this was probably an input problem. I've found that my fingers don't work well on touchscreen devices if they're cold, or if my skin is dry. That usually means I tap or swipe things and it either doesn't happen, or doesn't quite work right because it couldn't track my finger properly.
Another thing to be careful of is that you purely tap the screen, and don't let your finger 'wander' on the glass before you lift it away. The iPad is very sensitive about skin moving on the surface, and if you're not very deliberate, it'll treat a clumsy tap as a 'slight swipe' - and swiping doesn't bring up the keyboard/cursor, so it appears not to work.

Why when i type some of the letters dont show up

That would be due to a faulty keyboard, due to old age, lifespan of keyboards or maybe during typing you are missing the key and the keyboard results in not recognizing that command. If it is happening with a deliberate press (even when you press harder) it is due to the contact panel underneath that is making your letters appear. Maybe a cleanup of dust and stuff will fix it, or as a more expensive solution a new keyboard. Ebay ranges keyboards for vaios at around 25dollars

Well it could be several things, not the least of things is radiated electrical noise. Seriously, I had several customers get hit with this problem. One test was to hold your hands just over the keyboard. If random characters appear, you sitting within the radius of a strong transformer.

Look around the area you are in, do you see any type of antenna nearby? If you do, rotate your lap top 90 degrees.

Also, the keyboard may be starting to fail. From your description I would suspect that the scan code for the key you pressed is not getting reported back to the CPU properly.

Replacing the keyboard on a Satellite is fairly straight forward. The replacement part from Toshiba only cost $35. and that included shipping.

Nintendo DS Lite keyboard problem

Recalibrating the Touch Screen
Remove all games from the Nintendo DS Lite.
Turn the system on by pressing the POWER switch.
Press the A Button when the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears.
When the main menu appears, use the Control Pad to place the cursor over the Settings Menu Panel at the bottom of the screen, and press the A Button.
Use the Control Pad to place the cursor over the orange icon that looks like crosshairs (the right-most icon), and press the A Button.
Use the stylus, and tap the red square that appears on the screen. Do this each time the square moves. (Note : You must touch the red square precisely at each of the three positions, otherwise the test will continue to re-start.)
When complete, four squares will appear, allowing users to test the touch screen sensitivity. (Testing is optional.) Tap the "Confirm" button in the lower-right corner.

Wait for the the confirmation message to disappear, then tap "Quit," then "Yes" to exit. The unit will shut down automatically to save the settings.

Microsoft wireless comfort keyboard 1.0A problem with games

Wireless keyboards shut down after not detecting changes in input over a time period.
This is usually Hardware related in the keyboard to base station so there is no way to fix it using the particular keyboard.

My recommendation would be to go to a USB corded keyboard which would not have to have the power restrictions that a wireless one does.

Alternately if using a first person shooter, tap the strafe keys while you are running long distances, or in racing tap a unused key to keep the keyboard in alive transmit mode.

Keyboard period repeats

I have had the same problem for ever. I have found that unplugging the USB dongle, waiting 10+ seconds and than plugging it back in tends to fix it right away.

After a few weeks you might have to do it again. Annoying problem but a simple fix
