With the Asus motherboard you got a CD with the drivers on it. Use that. If you have lost the CD, go to the Asus website and download the appropriate drivers for your motherboard.

Every time I start up my eee pc I have an error message : "Asus eee pc acpi service encountered a problem and needs to close..." If I close the pop up comes back immediately. I have already try...

ACPI is the reporting system for the hardware. It tells the operating system about battery charges fan speeds and so on depending on the model.

I would look at the Asus support page for a bios update as well as updates for the ACPI system or software. You can download and just run the updates to install and that should fix this if they have a driver problem and a fix.

http://usa.asus.com/Eee/

Select your model to go to the model page then under downloads you should find the bios updates and the bios utility. Download and run and it will update and hopefully kill the error. I saw 4 updates and two looked like they might address this. Just get the latest one. It will tell you if it needs to be done. Don't run anything else when you do this. Start the update and don;t touch. It should take just a few minutes and may want to reboot after.

I keep getting this message: "Asus Eee PC ACPI

Quoting from a forum last year discussing how to get rid of your message... "ACPI stands for Advance Configuration and Power Interface, which basically means it lets the OS communicate with the BIOS. This covers things from properly reading battery capacity to hardware features like enabling the Fn keys on your keyboard to work. So it's needed if you want everything to work." The problem can be registry errors, incorrect ACPI drivers or both. You can try the suggested solution of reloading the Asus drivers but you may still get the message due to registry errors. Registry cleaning can by done by Advanced SystemCare Free which is a free utility that can be downloaded from CNet...

If all this fails and you can back-up any personal data that you might have on the netbook, a simple solution is on startup to tap F9 to reload the system with its factory-installed image that is on a hidden partition on the netbook's hard disk. My Fn Button doesnt work

You can find the Drivers for your 1005HA here
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?model=Eee%20PC%201005HA&os=5&SLanguage=en-us
Fn keys are 'controlled' by the ACPI Driver (look under ATK)
I suggest you also download the latest Chipset driver and install that after installing the ACPI driver.
There's no difference in the choice of download sites - Global Global DLM or China, though it will probably be faster to download from Global than all the way from China...

Looking sound driver installer to my computer asus p4pe acpi bios revision 1005

Go to asus.com and enter your info there. You will be shown a page with all the pertinent drivers for your computer. Download your audio driver and then install it. If you still don't have any audio after that then your integrated sound card may be burned out. You can easily fix that by getting a PCI sound card.

Install ATK0100 driver first

You will need to install the update first, I found 3 versions of ATK0100. You can try all versions if you like starting with the latest version. Just remember to create a restore point before you install any of the drivers that you want to upgrade just in case anything goes wrong, you can go back to an earlier time when the system is working OK.

**For creating restore point, you can just go start>all programs>accessories>system tools> System restore. Just choose create a restore point and specify a restore name.

**The Drivers that are available are for Windows XP
