Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

When Microsoft starts to open Windows, three blue squares cross the screen about 12 times. Often, the computer freezes after three to six times across and I have to restart. How can I avoid the freeze?

A computer freeze is dreadful as there are many causes such as RAMs, hard drives and the OS itself. I will recommend that you reformat the OS and better yet obtain a professional version of the OS.

SOURCE: my computer will not reboot

this will either relate to a hard disk fault or a corrupt driver or registry file, if you cannot get into safe mode, or last known good configuration, you may have to run a windows repair using your XP cd

SOURCE: My PC auto matically restart when turning it on

The beep you hear is your BIOS trying to alert you to an error in the POST (power on self test) routine. Without knowing the manufacturer of your motherboard one can't be certain what the beeps indicate...see this link for more info: http://www.5starsupport.com/info/beep_codes.htm
It's possible you have some kind of infestation, and it's possible there's something more systemic, but without knowing the make and model of your system I couldn't say.
Sometimes three beeps indicates a keyboard error...you could try another keyboard or unplug yours and see if it will boot up "normally" without it.
Otherwise, report back with some more info and we'll take it from there.

Hello i have an HP windows 7 i turned it on and it goes to blue hp screen and freezes up

A blue screen error usually comes up on Windows 7 when there is a serious hardware or software issue that may be causing Windows to Shut Down unexpectedly. At times, a message may also come up on your screen saying "Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer."

To troubleshoot this issue, you may need to try out multiple troubleshooting options to detect whether the issue is with your hardware or software and to resolve the same as per the recommended procedure.

To know more about your troubleshooting options to get rid of blue screen error, you need to refer to the following Microsoft and HP support pages:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-windows-7
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c00372711#N182

The above troubleshooting steps may also help you to resolve the freezing issue. If they don't, please let us know so that we can suggest you additional troubleshooting options for the same.

How do you put the computer in safe mode on a HP pavillion?

If I remember correctly, for Windows XP:

Click on 'Start' at the bottom left of your screen
Click on 'Run' - should be on the right side of the Start menu towards the bottom.
A box will appear at the bottom of the 'Start' menu. Enter "msconfig" (without quotation marks), and press the Return/Enter Key.

A new window will open with several tabs. Click on the BOOT.INI tab to open that, and click in the square box first on list by /SAFEBOOT. There are three variants of safe mode. For now, choose 'Minimal' (click in the circle by that word). Now move to bottom right of the MSCONFIG window and click on the 'OK' button. Now the window will close, but next time you Restart/Start your computer it will be in Safe Mode (font will different, and it will say 'Safe Mode' at the four corners of the screen).

Navman MY75T was working fine for several weeks, but today it won't start up. Tried to reset several times, but no luck. It gets to the Safety Agreement screen, and when I press the "Accept"...

1. Connect Navman GPS to PC viamini-usb cable. 2. Go to 'Start' 3. Go to 'My Computer' 4. Open the 'Navman' folder 5. Open the 'Database' folder 6. Delete the following file only- 'dababase.db' 7. Close the folders 8. Disconnect the mini-USB cablethen restart the Navman GPS by sliding the switch to 'Restart' then back to'On' after 10 seconds. The unit shouldstart & the database.db file will be re-generated automatically.

My Computer will turn on and go to the windows XP loading screen with the blue bars and will won't load up, it rarely does but when it gets to the log on user screen it freezes

Right after your POST screen goes off, before you get to Windows starting, try pushing the F8 key several times until you get the Windows boot options. Then try 'last known good configuration".
If that doesn't work, you can boot from the Windows installation disk and try to repair your Windows installation.Let me know what happens.
And good or bad, please rate my post?
