Question about Janome Sewing Machines

When I turn on the 4800QC sometimes it makes a loud noise and says ERROR#1. Then won't work. Cleaning bobbin, or turning on and off makes no difference. ERROR#1 mean?

Needle not picking up bobbin thread and it makes funny loud noise

Sometimes both symptoms are a result of a bent, dull, or damaged needle. Try installing a brand new needle.

If it is still not picking up the bobbin thread and making a noise, take it for service. It most likely has a needle/hook timing issue and the noise could be the needle making contact with the needleplate or in the bobbin area. Continued use could cause the needle to break and flying pieces of needle, in most cases, are not a good thing.

My Juki HZL F300 bobbin case is making a terrible noise. It sounds like the bobbin is going to spin right out of it. This noise is SO loud! Do I need to oil anything? It is not even a year old.

Try installing a brand new needle. Sometimes a bent or dull needle will cause lots of racket.

You should consult your owner's manual for maintenance--cleaning and oiling instructions. Most sewing machines do require oil--some more frequently than others. Most machines also need frequent oiling in the bobbin/hook area. Be sure to use only good quality sewing machine oil for your machine--NO 3-in-1, WD-40, cooking oil, or old brown stinky oil.

If it continues to make the noise, you should probably have it serviced. Since it is less than a year old, it might still be covered under warranty, so don't delay.

Singer Touch-tronic 2000 makes loud humming/buzzing noise, stitch selector lights quit working, needle bar stopped moving.

Sounds like you've got a thread jam going on in the bobbin case area. Good cleaning and a new needle will probably fix it. See: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091202121550AAHxN8y

Thread on bobbin does not attach to needle when needle is turned down.

Depends what was causing the noise. It could merely have been the build-up of lint and thread. However, something else could be the cause.

First: Install a brand new needle. A bent, damaged, old needle will frequently cause noise because it is striking something it should not. A dull needle will also make a thunking sound as it tries to penetrate the fabric. The needle should be changed about every 8 hours of sewing...a very inexpensive fix!

Also, be sure to following the oiling instructions (if any) in your manual. Use only fresh good quality sewing machine oil and apply only 1-2 drops in each spot as instructed.

If the top thread still fails to pick up the bobbin thread, it is likely the machine has been knocked out of time. Take it for service.

Babylock Esante stopped. Just makes loud noise but won't move even manually.

You probably have a jam. Start digging under the bobbin area.

If you get it all cleaned up under there... and it still won't move. Time for service by a pro. Could be something horrid like a bent shaft.

Good luck

Screeching noise

have you tried a new needle--flat side to the back of the machine
check to see if the thread has come off the thread take up lever
it's also possible that there's something wrong with the motor since it sounds a bit loud
it probably needs to be serviced

When my Janome Memory Craft 4800 is turned on, I get this on the display "Error #1"

I notice others on the internet have suggested its a threading error. Try cutting the thread at the reeel and pulling towards to needle to clean all the guides.

My machine is making a loud banging noise

These are the things that cause my machine to make a "banging" sound:

The machines with the horizontal/drop-in bobbin sometimes collect lint in the bobbin case.

Sewing fabric backed with a synthetic/foam/vinyl or adhesive.

Wrong size needle for the type of fabric being sewn.
