I am unable to get just the rinse cycle started. Please advise steps to enable rinse cycle to commence, as when I turn the dishwasher on it goes straight to wash cycle.

  • coopesmd Sep 14, 2010

I do not understand how you come to this conclusion when I was advised to try a fix by your colleague which centered on running a rinse cycle of 15 minutes. I queried how to run that cycle, and I dont believe your solution is the answer to my query.

Try the below steps

1) Make sure there is not a real drain problem.
2) Cancel any cycle or turn the power button off then on.
3) Run a rinse cycle (15 minutes).
4) If pump continues to run, turn off the power to the dishwasher, let stand for a minute, then repeat steps 2-3. If still not working, leave power off over night and leave the door open then try again.

If they did not work
then Impellor thread had stripped allowing slippage on the shaft.
Pump housing is plastic welded together so it will have to be replaced as an assembly.
Disassembly can be achieved by removing top and sides then turning upside down and removing heaps of screws until the bottom came off. Pump just pulls out of the rubber seals from the suction and discharge connections.

Check if the Impellor thread had stripped allowing slippage on the shaft.

The error is linked to the wash pump which may have a problem.

You will have to replace it and it is available from this location.
Also see the postings from users who have experienced the same problem.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately I do not have visibility to what the other fixya consultant may have advised you. This is how the system works, we don't see each other's solution.

My diagnosis that the pump could be faulty or leaky was based on the E1 error you had observed. The description of the E1 fault is contained in the postings within the link I sent you.

Not sure if Rinse cycle may have anything to do with it.

Hope this helps remove your concerns.

Keep getting E! error message. How do I reset on board computer?

The E1 error code on LG dishwashers indicates a water leakage problem on the machine.
Typically the water seal on the washing/drain pump has deteriorated and allowed water into the pump motor which causes internal damage to the bearing and impeller. Damaged parts or pump needs replacing.

HOW TO CLEAR CODE E1 ON LG DISHWASHER ?

The 1E error or fault code is to indicate that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve.

I have a freestanding LG dishwasher and the E1 error message has come up. How do I fix it?

The E1 ERROR mean's your main wash motor is clogged or failed & you need to pull it apart completley to test or clear the blockage.Generally its just clogged so get a lg service guy to do it cause he will know your dishwasher inside out.THANKS, ECO KIZZA

LG dishwasher ld14aw2 error

Did the owner of the LG LD-14aw2 that was giving the OE error get the problem resolved?
With an OE (Drain Error), it means that the dishwasher is not fully drained out in spite of 5 min. drain operation. First step of the trace the entire path of the drain hose to the sink drain. Be certain that ther is no blockage in any of it.
It that does not resolve the problem, remove the lower spray arm and the screws that hold the sump area down. Open up the area and inspect everywhere for debris that could be blocking the drain area.
Next step would be to replace the drain motor.
With the LG dishwasher that is giving an IE error: Double check that the water valve supplying the dishwasher is fully open. Next, with the water turned off, open the connection between the inlet pipe (hot water) and the dishwasher inlet valve. Clean the screen of all debris/minerals that often build up there.
If problems continue, check and replace the inlet valve.
Thanks for reporting back what you have found. Good Luck!

Lds 5811ww dishwasher e1

LG have a history of E1 error problems.

The controller board can be one cause, however, most of these are caused by a faulty circulation pump.

The impeller breaks on the shaft and does not turn, so it doesn't produce pressure. A pressure sensor activates, bringing up the 'E1" message.

The impeller and pump are a complete assembly.

Replacing it usually fixes the problem.
