Question about Computers & Internet
H. Test the connectionfirst if you were able to ping a website. the icon (excellent) that you saw is just telling you that you are coonnected to the router but it not actually tells you that you are connected to the internet. Here's the procedure on how to use ping command. Click start menu then go to all programs then click accessories then click Command prompt. Type in ping google.com to the command prompt box and you should be getting replies from google if you are connected to the internet. If there are no replies from google then there must be a problem with your internet connection. Now , if there are replies from google then there must be a problem with the computer. This could be a virus that causing the computer not to browse since you already used to browser and nothing happened. Here's a link when to donwload free virus scan software. Please click here.
