Generally this is caused by a lack of lubrication. Go to the link below and enter the model number. That will get you a complete parts breakdown diagram for the gun. Use that as a guide to dis-assemble the feeder area and clean it and lub it using pneumatic oil.

Feel free to post any additional questions that you have.

Roofing coil nailer will not advance nails

The feeder piston should be very hard to retract by hand and should move back and forth as quickly as driver piston moves. With nails removed and side door open, activate gun on rubber surface (old coiled up air hose or water hose ) and make sure driver and feeder move quickly. If not check for debris within feed piston or air passage to feedpiston. The spring straddles the feeder with the slightly bent part of the spring arms contacting the upper surface of the feeder (little grooves cut into feeder). When installed correctly, the tip of the spring arms will be pointing upwards and the back part of the spring between the two loops will be contacting the feeder shaft. Good luck.

Ism coil roofing nailer will not hold nails in striking chamber after they advance

The feeder area of the nailer incorporates small levers on both sides of the nails. On the body side, the spring loaded feeder retracts and pulls forward the first nail. On the latch side small spring loaded arm/s hold the nails in place once they are pulled forward. Open the latch and push on both the feeder and the retanier for firm spring tension. On some nailers, due to wear, the grippers on the feeder tend to wear off allowing the nail to slip out of place. On other nailers, the feeder arm/shaft tends to wear and alows the feeder to move out of alignment (check if the actual feeder arm can move from side to side). The feeder shaft should move forward and back with no side to side movement. Finally, some coil nails are welded together with too stiff of wire. After the first nail is driven, the second nail will have one or two strands of wire pointing out not allowing the nails to move into position. After first shot, the two wires should be cut off or bent down out of the way. Good luck.

My makita an451 roof nailer keeps shooting 2 nails I've tried 2 different brands of nails

Nailers that use strips of nails (one nail directly behind the other) will sometimes drive two nails at once and is caused by damage to the driver. The nails are so close together that the driver will hit the first and part of the second nail head. Coil nailers, as your an451, use nails seperated by welded wire making it very difficult the the driver to hit the second nail. Usually when a coil nailer shoots two nails, it is acutally the trigger valve that acutates twice (two very rapid fires). Two very rapid fires is caused by faulty trigger valve. I have seen a roofing coil nailer fire one nail and a second nail drops out of the gun. Caused by weak / malfunction of nail feeder or wire used to weld nails together is too thick.

I have an Hitachi NV83A2 it won't feed nails anymore. Everything else seems to work properly. After about 20 or so hits on the trigger it will feed the odd nail? I am puzzled as to which course of...

could be a couple areas to look at. First lok at the coil of nails and possibly try another one. Check the adjustment of the coil for proper feeding. If all ok there, remove the coil and get a block of wood and safety glasses. Open the door and "TAP" the nose on the block of wood and look at the driver does it fall down into the lower area without the trigger, if so the piston o ring is worn not allowing it to fully retract and advance the next nail. If not apply air and DRY fire the nailer while looking at the feed piston/pawl, it should snap back and forth, if not there is either a worn oring or debris in the air passage. Also the pawl should have resistance if you push outwards on it. Sounds like a lot but only takes a couple minutes to see where issue is. Let me know if I can help

SENCO COIL ROOFING GUN DOESNT ADVANCE NAILS EVERY THRID OR FOURTH NAIL DOESNT ADVANCE

Clean the track and piston by removing nail tray (there are a couple of allen screws)and removing the gunk from the nail tape and if you have been shooting something glued that to. Remove head assembly and thoroughly clean and oil that also. that should fix you right up I have a couple of these guns and that is typical.
If that is no the problem rebuild the gun it is worth it as they are a great air gun
Hope this helped

Problem accessing nails

Hi, No you can't. They are two different feeds. The F33 uses tape feed and the N79 uses stick feed. The N79 is a basic wood frame nailer that uses 3 to 3 1/4 sticks, while the F33 uses up to 2 1/2 paper feed. The stick nails are the most common for the older nailers and on the box look for Bostitch as the brand to fit, as the N79 was sold under that brand not Stanley. This should Fixya!

Max 890s coil nailer does not advance nails when operated.

Make sure you have at least 100 psi available and I would pretty much drown the sliders and other moving parts in something like Marvel Mystery Oil.
