Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

We have a Baby Grand Piano, which is a Kurzweil Mark 152. But on the screen it says Mark 12. Whenever we flick the switch to turn it on, it does a complete sweep and lights up all the buttons, (left to right) but then when it comes back only the left side lights up and it flickers. And on the screen it says waking up scanner..

SOURCE: AOC LM700 17" LCD Screen switches to black and then comes back to norm

Hi,

According to LCDParts, an inverter for an AOC LM700 would cost $69.99. Specs (with picture) are available here.

Perhaps you can do a Google for lesser priced versions.

Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: electrical problem

Find the ground wire on one of the lights and add another ground wire to a good clean metal surface and see if that fixes the problem. It defently sounds like a ground problem at one of the lights.

SOURCE: 01 Softail Deuce left turn signal comes on, will not go off

I'm new to this site but actually has fielded a question about a Triumph motorcycle I'm worrking on!

I have an '03 Anniversary Deuce and I ran into (not the exact) but similar problem. My bike has the bars internally wired from the grips all the way through the top triple tree. Somehow over time the turn signal wire got shorted "internally". You might want to just unbolt the turn signal switch from the bars to see if the wire got pinched up high. If not...move the wires around to see if that helps. If it does...ultimately you should re-wire the connections. Just my experience...good luck!

SOURCE: Kurzweil piano keys are clicking seems to be worn out.

I don't see you doing any damage by having a look but I would get a piano tuner or repairer in to investigate the problem expertly - no slight on you. But if your Church congregation depend on it it's well worth the money.
Good Luck

How do I restart when Kurzweil Mark 12 1999 piano hangs at waking up scanner message?

Hard reset procedure

1. Turn the Kurzweil off
2. Hold down the KEY START, KEY STOP, and LAYER VOLUME buttons for 5 seconds while powering the unit up, then release
3. Select RUN DIAGS
4. Press the UP arrow until the display reads RAM TEST
5. Press the START/STOP button to run the test
6. When the display reads SUCCESS, turn the unit off and back on. The unit is now reset.
If your Kurzweil still does not come up to the normal screen after this procedure, it will require service.

Tell me some tips and tricks about using the Kurzweil sp3x stage piano

The place to get the best help for Kurzweil gear is Sweetwater Sound.
Other than that, always use it in stereo mode with a decent sound system. Always use speakers with at least a 15" woofer and a horn to get the full range of sound it's capable of.

Replacing battery in kurzweil mark 12

As per the manual it says it is located near the power switch. You will need(as per the manual instructions): a screwdriver(Phillips head), a knife, a pair of scissors, and a pair of front end wire cutters as, when shipped from the factory, the three AA batteries were taped or cable tied as a shipping precaution(to keep them from falling out). ***WARNING: MAKE 100% SURE YOU HAVE BACKED UP ALL OF YOUR SOUND PATCHES ON A FLOPPY DISK BEFORE BEGINNING THIS PROCEDURE!!! ONCE YOU START THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS, YOU HAVE ABOUT 30 SECONDS BEFORE THE BOARD LOSES ITS CHARGE AND YOUR SOUND PATCHES GET ERASED FROM THE ROM CHIP.***
Make sure you have all of the needed batteries and tools before beginning.

Hope this helps.

It may be the line current at those venues.

If you have a lightweight switchmode supply, you can try adding some ferrites to the power cord from the wall. but you almost need to switch to an older style heavy transformer supply for reliablity. It is my guess there is a great deal of noise on the supply current at those vehues you have had problems at. That noise does not play well with switchmode.

I cannot get the grand piano sound......help somebody!

You are not clear if you can't select it or it just doesn't sound like a grand piano. If it is the latter here are the things to check:

1. Are your speakers at least 15 inch diameter with suitable tweeter as well? This is if you want the deep lows of the piano. Twelve inch are minimum size to sound anything like a grand. The internal speakers found in the pianos just don't quite make it as they are often only 4 to 6 inch.

2. Is your amplifier capable of enough power?

To get the REAL GOOD grand sound you need a capable audio system. A home stereo system just doesn't cut it to reproduce the sound of a grand piano.

My Kurzweil ensemble grande mark III, purchased in 1990, has suddenly stopped working. When I switch on, there are no words in the readout and keys make no sound. What should I do?

I had the same problem with the same piano. Your switch has gone bad so replace the on/off switch. Unplug the piano. Pry the on/off switch out with a thin blade screwdriver. With the switch in the "on" position, see if it points to the grey or brown wire & label the wire "on". Cut the wires and bring the switch to a good electronics parts store and ask for a replacement. Install & you're back in business. Or get a handyman to do it for you.

Kurzweil digital piano unpredictable voices and volume

The contacts of various switches and keys are likely dirty. They are often conductive rubber and need cleaning with 99% isoprophly alcohol and q-tip. Clean both the conductive rubber pill and th circuit board traces they contact.
