You will need to check the name plate rating of your A/C it is possible that you may not even need that large of a breaker. Most of the older units that had straight electric heat strips used this large of a circuit. If it has been changed out chances are a different size will be needed. On the nameplate there will be a minimum circuit ampacity and a maxi-um over-current protection that is the boundaries for your breaker size. If you do have a larger breaker on than what the unit calls for it could cause more damage to the unit if a problem occurs. Good luck!

Can a 100AMP Culter Hammer Main Breaker Be Upgraded to 150AMP Without Changing the box or wiring?

only if your main wires (ie. line/feeder wires) are larger than a #2 awg wire size. #2 awg size wire is code and the right size wire for 100 amps. So, if you have larger wire coming into your service (eg. #1 THHN or larger) - then you can. Otherwise, you'll have to UP the wire size for the appropriate amperage. I hope this gives you some idea! Good Luck!

Cutler Hammer 20 Arc Fault breaker for bedroom outlets will not reset after activating test switch.

The circuit breaker must be turned to the "off" position first from the middle position, and then to the "on" position. The cutler hammer arc breakers carry a lifetime warranty so if it will not reset you may want to contact the manufacture.

Hi, I have the Cutler Hammer fusible ac disconnect 30 amp, my question is with the 10-3 wire from the fuse panel to the pullout do you only use the Black White and Ground and lay back the Red? Also, can...

If you use a white wire to carry a 120 Volt line it would have to be taped with either black or red tape both at the breaker box and your fuseable disconnect so the solution is to use the black and the red wire into your curcut breaker, the white and the bare ground both tie into the grounding post at the circut box and at the fuseable cut off, Yes the fuses are neccisary per code.. to eliminate a short or fault from traveling all the way back to the breaker box.. often times found inside the building the fusible pullout is attached to. check your local codes and regulations for more specific details.

Can i use murray in a cutler hammer

You should only use a breaker that is listed for use with your panel. Use of a breaker that is not either listed or classified for use in the panel is a code violation. Check the breaker to see if it will fit your panel (probably not) Murry is now Siemens I believe, and Cuttler Hammer is Eaton. There was a Murry-Cuttler Hammer-Challenger connection for awhile, but just because it fits doesn't mean it's ok.

What size main breaker do I need for a 125 amp panel?

You can install anything, up to a 125 amp. Just do not go any higher amperage then that. Anything lower will work just fine but will limit the current to the amount of the size of the breaker.

I purchased a 60-Amp Cutler-Hammer Fusible Pullout Air Conditioner Disconnect to replace my older (over 20 years) one for my AC/Heating unit inside the house. Looking for a wiring diagram as I have 2-wires...

The two wires coming from the breaker box go to the terminals marked "LINE". The two wires going to your AC unit go to the terminals marked "LOAD".

Hope you find this to be very helpful. :-)
