Your manual will tell you where your lever is to raise the feeddog, remember to move your handwheel towards you, never away from you when you want to raise the feeddogs. Also make sure that you have engaged the machine again if you wound a bobbin. My feeddogs on my old machine was on the machine, if you pulled off the extension part to make the machine into a free arm. If, you have problems go to Sears sewing department and they will show you.

The sewing teeth were down for quilting, I cant make them come up again for sewing, wheel turns but teeth dont move, any suggestions?

Look at the presser foot and imagine they are at the center of a clock. Now look at 4:00. There is a horizontal wheel (dial) on the free arm that needs turning.

The feed teeth are lowered when you turn the dial on the front of the free arm to the left . Turn the dial to the right if you wish to raise the feed teeth. The feed teeth will raise as you begin to sew.

I need to adjust the feed dog higher. There is a threaded plastic stud with a metal keeper nut surrounding it. There are 2 allen wrench studs attaching the feed dog. Which one adjusts it higher?

I would not advise raising the teeth any higher unless they have dropped down, with the teeth fully up crouch down so the teeth are in your eyeline and they should only be just above the plate, if you raise them up above what they should be you are in danger of breaking the needle plate and even the teeth holder which will be expensive

The feeder on my 6690 won't pull material through

Look in your owner's manual. I'm sure your machine has a reverse feed button but don't know if you can manually disable the feed teeth. If it is so equipped, it doesn't drop the teeth. Rather, it simply causes them to go straight up and down. If the teeth truly stay below the needle plate level, they are likely out of adjustment and need to bereadjusted and raised.

Singer Sewing Machine model #2638 Does not feed fabric

Here is a link to page 22 of the manual. It shows you where to flip the lever to raise the feed dogs. If your feed dogs are not grabbing fabric your feed dogs are lowered.

After lowering the feed teeth I am unable to raise them manually with the dial. They do raise with a mechanical "clank" as I begin to sew. The feed teeth are on the extreme right off the slot openings....

If you have been embroidering, the feed teeth will raise themselves next time you do regular sewing with a clunking noise - not really loud, but you can hear it. The feed teeth on my Des.1 are on the far right-hand side too so I think that this normal. So long as they are not fouling on the coverplate slots and the material is being fed properly by the feed teeth, your machine is fine.

The dog foot has fallen down, it is still sewing but not pulling the fabric through.

If the teeth have dropped and you do not have a drop feed lever you will need to get into the bottom of the machine and raise the teeth slightly and tighten the screw.

The feed dogs on my Viking 980 won't engage. Everything else is working fine...anything I can do?

Have you tried running the machine a few stitches? The feed teeth do not raise as soon as the button is raised. They won't come up until the machine makes a revolution, you will hear a click and then when the needle comes up the teeth come up. If they don't, you need professional help. See your authorized dealer.
