Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My brand new iPhone 4 has been disabled by accident. I had no code set, but suddenly it asked me for a code to open it. I had no choice but to comply, so I typed 0000, and the phone did open. But then i tried to turn off the code, but instead of omitting the code I was asked to set a new code. I got caught in merry-go-round, obviously made a mistake, and when I couldn't get it right three times, my phone was disabled. What can I do to unlock it??? I suppose that all of my carefully installed phone lists, etcl are lost... but at least I must get my wonderful iPhone 4 working again. WHAT DO I DO? Gene Deitch

Hello,

I understand the fact that you just bought the iphone, but this is the only way out,You can get the unlock code by contacting your current service provider customer care department. If your phone is locked you can use any of your friends phone to make this call. The service provider will then provide you the unlocking codes.
Remember that the reason why the codes are provided only through customer service provider is that, they will make a check on your name and identity proof at the time of your call. If the information is found to be correct and matching with their data then you will be provided with the codes. Everything is done for free of cost and you are not going to be charged for this process.
This is the universal solution and is useful for many customers who are facing these kind of problems. Don't believe in any websites which provides unlock codes. All are fake. Only your service provider can provide these codes.

Another alternative is, you can take the phone to any authorize phone service center to help unlock the phone, because to unlock your phone, you will need some kind of software, USB cable etc to unlock the phone, so you can also go a nearby phone service center to unlock the phone, but calling your network service provider is the best because they have the records of your phone and can easily help to unlock it. This are the two reliable means you can unlock your phone.

Take care.

How do i unlock my iphone 4 when its disabled

Does this copied and pasted advice help you?

iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled If you set up a passcode on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and you or someone else then enters the wrong passcode too many times, your device will disable itself temporarily. Learn what to do if you have forgotten your passcode, or if your device displays a message saying it's disabled. If you enter the wrong passcode six times in a row, you'll be locked out and you'll see this message:
  • iPhone is disabled
  • iPad is disabled
  • iPod touch is disabled

If you can't remember your passcode, you'll need to erase your device using iTunes, Find My iPhone, or recovery mode. Then use a backup to put your data and settings back on your device. Here's how. Use iTunes If you have synced your device with iTunes, you can restore your device.
  1. Connect the device to the computer you normally sync with.
  2. Open iTunes. If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you've synced with. Or try the steps below to use recovery mode.
  3. iTunes will automatically sync your device and create a backup. If it doesn't, sync the device with iTunes.
  4. After the sync is complete, restore your device.
    ht1212_02-itunes_11-device_summary_tab-002-en.png
  5. When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup."
  6. Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup.
Use Find My iPhone If you enabled Find My iPhone, you can use it to erase your device.
  1. Go to icloud.com/#find to see if you enabled Find My iPhone.
  2. Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
  3. Select your device and click "Erase [device]" to erase your device and its passcode.
  4. Use the Setup Assistant on your device to restore the most recent backup of your device.
Use restore your device as new or from a backup.
  1. Disconnect all cables from your device.
  2. Turn off your device.
  3. Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
  4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
  5. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
  6. Click OK, then restore the device.

My Iphone has a pass code. Some one tried to get onto the iphone and it is now disable. How do I enable my iphone

Hi.

To re-enable your handset you need to RESET it from the last computer it was connected to.
Here are the steps to do a force restore on the iPhone and reset the Passcode lock,

1. Make sure it is unplugged and Turned off

2. Hold the home button while plugging it into your computer. The iPhone should turn on once plugged into the computer.

3. Keep holding the Home button until the Connect to iTunes symbol appears on the iPhone

4. iTunes will say that it has found an iPhone in recovery mode and ask you to restore it.

5. Restore the iPhone by clicking "Restore" under the iPhone tab

6. When it is done with the restore, do NOT Restore this iPhone from a backup, instead Set it up as a "New iPhone"
This will erase all your data you have in it though. :(

Ipod touch is disabled itunes won't connect says the ipod needs a passcode before connecting to itunes

If you have forgotten your iPhone’s Passcode you will need to restore your phone via iTunes.

1. First you have to put your phone into the restore mode which is a slightly fiddly process.
2. Plug your iPhone into your PC or Mac with the USB cable
3. Press and hold the power button at the top and then slide to power off the iPhone
4. Press the power button to power the iPhone on and keep it held while simultaneously pressing the home button
5. After a few seconds a yellow alert triangle will appear and the iPhone will say it is iPhone Restore Mode.
6. Open up iTunes and click on the Summary tab
7. Click on Restore to restore your iPhone. This will reset all your iPhone’s setting to the factory defaults, including the Passcode.

You should then follow these steps below to activate the passcode again.
  1. Click the Home button to bring up the main menu
  2. Click on Settings
  3. In the Settings screen click on General
  4. In the General screen click on Passcode Lock
  5. This will open the Set Passcode screen. Enter a memorable 4-figure code and re-enter it when prompted
  6. You will now be at the Passcode Lock screen. You can change when you are prompted to enter the Passcode. The default setting – Immediately – means you will be asked to enter it as soon as your start using the iPhone. But you can change the setting so that the prompt appears after a certain period of use
  7. Press the Home button to return to the main menu.

The home screen on my brand new iphone 3Gs suddenly magnified itself and got stuck. I can't access my code to open the phone or anything.

I had the same problem
First hook up to your computer and synch it on itunes. Then reload the system software. That may solve your problem but if not it will remove the passcode so you can get in.

Go to settings, general, accessibility, set Zoom to OFF

did the trick for me...
