You probably have the power antenna remote wire (blue) turning on the ammp instead of the amp remote wire (blue/white stripe).

How do i program the radio

Click below for the manual.

manual

1 Select the radio band and tune in a desired radio

station you wish to store in the preset memory.

2 Press (PRESET).

The Preset screen is displayed.

3 Rotate the Double Action encoder to select the

preset number.

4 Press and hold /ENTER for at least 2 seconds.

The selected station is stored.

The display shows the band, preset number and station

frequency memorized.

A total of 18 stations can be stored in the preset memory (6 stations

for each band; FM1, FM2 and AM).

If you store a station in a preset memory which already has a station,

the current station will be cleared and replaced with the new station.

Press in the outer ring and rotate the Double Action encoder to the

left or right on the Preset screen, you can switch the Preset screen of

another band.

FM-1 FM-2 AM FM-1
You can also change the desired radio band by pressing BAND.

Hope this helps.

Have lost four preset channels on my Technika DAB 109CR digital clock radio and lost manual so have nothing to consult to get back these stations. Everything live but showing only one station constantly

Finally sussed out how to (re)set presets, overall you need a little patience:
Probably best to press Autotune before we set off and let it do its thing.
Press 'presets' and find a free channel or the one you want to change, leave it until you can hear the station its on play.
Now, press 'jog/select' and WAIT until it says <SELECT> (but don't wait too long when it says this or you'll have to start again)
Use dial to find station you want AND LEAVE to tune in.
Press AND hold presets down until number flashes.
Press jog/select once briefly (normally).
Press presets once briefly...it should now say "Saved"
Leave to save for a few seconds.
Voila!
You can now change station either by pressing Presets and moving dial...waiting for the station to load OR press jog/select to manually tune to the station of your choice using the dial.

Lost memory

Car stereos typically have an "ignition" and a "battery" wire. The ignition wire is connected to your ignition switch, and only supplies power to the stereo when the car is turned on. The battery wire is connected directly to the battery, and always supplies electricity to the stereo -- even when the car is off. This maintains presets, clock, and other settings in your stereo.

It sounds like your battery wire was either not hooked up, or has come loose. On your stereo, a Pioneer, this wire is yellow. Locate the yellow wire on the wiring harness on the back of your stereo. This wire should be connected directly to your battery (or another source that gets constant +12VDC).

Fitted clarion db148r car sterreo(pluged in at rear) when i take ignition key out stereo switches off and all preset radio stations are lost thanks george

The reason you are loosing all of your presets, clock & eq settings is because the 12volt constant is not hooked up properly. The red wire in the harness needs to be hooked up to 12 volt consant. The yellow wire needs to be hooked up to a ignition source. By taking these two steps, you should have normal operation and preset retention.

Advice on how to set tuner presets on AlpineCDM 7838R in car stereo CD . Unit has both permanent and switched power supplies, will search stations and hold them when switched off but cannot work out how to...

some of the alpines had an odd way of setting the presets manually. you need to press any of the 1 thru 6 buttons for a few seconds. when the display starts blinking just pick which preset button (1 thru 6) you want to set the station at and press it once.

Tuning the radio

You have two "hot" wires going to the radio. One is the main B+ power and the other is for the "mem" function which keeps clock time and radio station presets in memory. Make sure that you have 12 volts to the memory wire (blown fuse?) If you do then you may have a problem that requires a trip to your local repair guy. Do you loose your preset stations when you turn off your car and leave the face in place (wait several minutes before turning car ignition back on)? If that is so, then you most likley don't have B+ to your memory wire. Good luck.
