The manual is available in Adobe Reader format from http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/2675_OwnersManual.pdf. To get the sound working:
1. Press the Volume (Speaker symbol) in the bottom right corner and check that the mute box is not ticked. If it is press it and it will be ok. Also check that the volume isn't fully down.
If that doesn't solve the problem it may be because the voice file is not selected or has become corrupted.

2. Press Tools, then press Settings (or Locale on som models), then press Language. You will see a bar for Voice. Press Voice and select a different voice. If this doesn't solve the problem it's most likely because the voice file has become corrupted. To replace the corrupted file.
3. Download webupdater from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 and connect your satnav to your computer. Install webupdater and your satnav will look for updates. After it's finished it will give you an option to download voices. Click the ones you want and press next. The voices selected will be downloaded to your satnav.
When you have removed the satnav from the computer you'll need to select a voice again as described in para 2 above.

Thank you for answering my questions.
I have the sound back on.
Re Manual.....have difficulty understanding why when a product
is purchased that the online manuals have a price tag.
I realize that they do cost to be printed but a basic manual for this product
    - free- would be very helpful for information regarding the use of it
    Thanks again for your information.

Hp psc 500 message "cartridge carriage blocked. Close latches over print catridges, then turn power off and on"

Normally the cause of these errors is apiece of paper or other material in the paper path. Sometimes the paperfeed assembly has become unsynchronized. Use the following steps tocorrect these issues:
  1. With the all-in-one turned on and ready, open the ink-cartridge accessdoor. The ink cartridges come to an access point if the carriage canmove.
  2. Unplug the black power cord from the back of the product. The powerplug must be pulled out to resynchronize the paper feed and carriagemotors. Simply turning the product off does not work.
  3. Remove both ink cartridges and lower the ink cartridge latches, asshown in the figure below, so that they do not catch on the productframe when the product reinitializes. Do not close the ink-cartridge access door at this time. Figure 1: Lowering the ink cartridge latching levers c00169359.jpg
  4. Remove the remaining print media from the paper supply tray. Discard any pieces of media that are damaged.
  5. Unlock and remove the rear access door. Figure 2: Removing the rear access door c00169360.jpg
  6. Being very careful, slowly and gently pull any jammed media out of the product through the rear access door.
NOTE: Do not pull the media out from the front of the all-in-one product, ifat all possible. Pulling the paper out from the front causes the blackpaper pushers that are located between front rollers to rotate upwardsand block the print carriage. This results in a carriage jam when theall-in-one product is restarted. If this occurs, unplug the all-in-onepower cord from the back of the product, wait about five seconds, andthen reinsert. This forces the product to reinitialize the paper-pickmechanism.
  7. Make sure that no jammed media remains in the product. Be sure to checkinside of the product on the sides to verify that media did crumpleinto these areas.
  8. Reinsert and lock the rear access door. Make sure that the door locksfully. The paper can skew if the rear access door is not fully locked.
  9. Close the ink-cartridge access door.
  10. Plug the power cord into the back of the product. If the product doesnot automatically turn on, press ON. Let the product initialize until afront panel message appears, requesting ink cartridges. If the carriagecannot move, remove the power cable again and determine what thecarriage is caught on. Manually move the carriage to free it fromwhatever has blocked, it and then repeat this step.
  11. Open the product and reinsert the ink cartridges.
  12. Reload the input tray with print media and try printing again. Themedia must be loaded properly for it to feed correctly. It must befully inserted into the product but not to the point that it bows fromthe pressure.
  13. The HP all-in-one product will request that an alignment be performedafter closing the ink-cartridge access door. Perform the alignment. TheHP all-in-one product should be fully functional when the alignment iscomplete. It might be necessary to repeat the process more than once ifthe product was completely out of synchronization.
Clean the paper rollers If the issue persists after checking the paper path and resetting the all-in-one product, follow these steps:
  1. With the product on, open the ink-cartridge access door. The ink cartridges come to an access point if the carriage can move.
  2. Unplug the black power cord from the back of the product. With thepower cord unplugged, the print carriage (the part that the inkcartridges are in) can be moved.
  3. Locate the four small, metal paper rollers (not the rubber rollers) andthe carriage rod as shown in the figure below. The carriage rod is thelarge metal rod that the print carriage rides on. If these rods are notbright and shiny or if they have buildup on them, they should becleaned. Figure 3: Locating the carriage rod and four metal rollers c00169361.jpg
  4. Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (distilledwater preferred) to clean the rollers and the carriage rod. With thepower cord unplugged, print carriage should move back and forth freelyso that all parts can be cleaned.
  5. Open the rear access door. Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightlymoistened with water (distilled water preferred) to clean the threerollers that are shown in the figure below. Close the rear access doorwhen the cleaning is finished. Figure 4: The three paper feed rollers c00169362.jpg
  6. Close the all-in-one product and reconnect the power cord. Try printing again to see if the issue is corrected.0baee9e.jpgc4134e9.jpgd4b3194.jpgbe80789.jpg

    Print cartridge carriage is stalled

Step one: Turn the All-in-One off and on again
    1. Press the On button to turn the product off.
    2. Press the On button again to turn the product on.
If the error message is not resolved, continue to the next step. Step two: Clear any paper jam Follow these instructions to clear a paper jam. CAUTION: All paper jams must be removed from the back of the product through the rear access door. Pulling the paper from the front of the product rotates the paper feed roller in the wrong direction and can damage the product.
    1. Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
    2. Turn the product around to access the back of the product.
    3. Open the rear access door:
      1. Locate the tab on the left side of the door and press it toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
      2. As the door shifts to the right, pull the door out slightly to release.
      3. When the door is released, gently remove the door by sliding the door out and to the left.
    1. From the rear access opening, gently pull the jammed paper out of the rollers.
NOTE: If the paper tears when you are removing it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might be remaining inside the product. If all the pieces of paper are not removed from the product, more paper jams are likely to occur.
    1. Replace the rear access door:
    2. Insert the two posts on the right of the door into the holes on the right side of the opening.
    3. Press the tab on the left side of the door toward the right. The door will shift slightly to the right.
    4. As the door shifts to the right, push in the left side of the door to lock it into position.
    5. Reconnect the power cord and turn the product on.
Step three: Make sure that the print carriage can move freely Follow these instructions to make sure the print carriage can move freely.
    1. With the product turned on, open the print cartridge access door. The print carriage might try to move into the access area. If so, allow it to move to that position.
    2. Without turning off the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product. Unplug the power cord from the power source. The power cord must be unplugged to allow the parts to be moved by hand and to reset the paper feed mechanism, without the risk of an electrical shock.
    3. Looking in through either the print cartridge access door or the output paper tray, make sure the print cartridges are locked into the carriage and have not come loose. Also, make sure that there are no obstructions under or around the carriage to block it from moving.
    4. Make sure the print carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions found. You may have to reach through the output paper tray to access the print carriage.
    5. Close the print cartridge access door and plug the power cord back to the back of the product. Plug the power cord into the power source.
    6. Press the On button to turn on the product.
If the error message is not resolved, continue to the next step. Step four: Remove the print cartridges Improper placement or installation of the print cartridges can cause a carriage stall error condition. Follow these instructions to remove the print cartridges.
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
    2. Open the print cartridge access door, and then wait until the print carriage is idle and silent.
Press down lightly on the end of each print cartridge to release it.
    • The tri-color print cartridge is on the left.
    • The black or photo print cartridge is on the right.
Slide both cartridges out and place them on a clean sheet of paper. CAUTION: Do not touch the ink nozzles or copper-colored contacts. Touching these parts could result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections. Do not remove the copper strips. They are required electrical contacts.

    1. Disconnect the power cord.
    2. Move the carriage all the way to the left with your hand.
    3. Close the print cartridge access door.
    4. Reconnect the power cord.
    5. Turn the product on, if necessary.
    6. If the error message is resolved, the placement of the print cartridges caused the problem. Complete Step five: Reinstall the print cartridges. There is no need to complete any steps after Step five.
If the error message is not resolved, complete Step five: Reinstall the print cartridges, and then continue with the subsequent steps. Step five: Reinstall the print cartridges step 6, Partial reset Follow these instructions to perform a partial reset of the product.

    3. Plug the power cord back into the product.
    4. Turn the product on by pressing the On button
    1. Load letter, A4, or legal unused plain white paper into the paper tray.

I cant reach the paper that is jamed what do i do

Have you been able to take the door off at the rear?

If you haven't tried this before, there is usually a door at the rear of the printer, with two circular recesses. Push the latches in and lift the door out, then see if you can reach some or all of your stuck paper.
