### How to use power and percent in el-531x scientific calculator

To use the power, you use the y to the x key, above the EXP key. To enter 2 to the power of 4, you enter 2 hit the y to the x key and enter 4 and hit enter.

To use percent function, you enter the percent key after the number. To calculate Interest, where Interest = Principal x Interest x Time. For example, if the principal is \$1,000, the interest rate is 8%, and time/term is 4 years, we would enter 1000 x 8 Percent x 4. When the8 is entered followed by the percent key, it should turn into 0.08.

Good luck,

### How do I find percentage

Not all calculators have a percentage key. I think of percent as per cent, or per 100. You can always multiply by 100 to get the percentage.

For example, 0.23 as a percent would be 0.23 x 100 or 23%.

Good luck.

### How to convert percent to fraction

1. Divide the percent by 100 to get decimal number.
2. Count the number of digits (d) to the right of the decimal point of the decimal number.Example: 2.56 has 2 digits to the right of the decimal point, so d=2.
3. Calculate the factor (f) for making the decimal number an integer: f = 10 to power d
Example:
f = 10 power 2 = 100
4. Multiply and divide the decimal number x by the factor f: x * f / f = y / f
Example:
2.56 * 100 / 100 = 256 / 100
5. Find the greatest common divisor (gcd) of the fraction. Example:
gcd(256,100) = 4
6. Reduce the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by the gcd value: Example:
256 / 100 = (256/4) / (100/4) = 64/25
Example One percent is equal to one hundredth:
1% = 1/100
So in order to convert percent to fraction, divide the percent by 100% and reduce the fraction.
For example 56% is equal to 56/100 with gcd=4 is equal to 14/25:
56% = 56/100 = 14/25

### How do u get % on it

On calculators you do not usually get percents. Instead, you get values which can be converted to a percent. For example what percent is 245 out of 987. You divide 245/987=.248. This is essentially the same as saying 24.8 percent. You move the decimal over 2 values. You can also round to get a nice percent number such as 25 percent.
If you are trying to put in a percent lets say you have to find 47% of 80. You just multiply .47 * 80= 38.4

### How to calculate a percentage - whole numbers

Say you want to know what percent x is of y (or To find out x is what percent of y).
We take x / y and times 100. Depending on what x and y are this might not always be a whole number,
we could round the number off to a whole number. An example: 81 is what percent of 135? To solve this
take (81 / 135) * 100 = (0.6) * 100 = 60 percent.

### Acer,Aspire 5720-4663 Math calculator: How does one use the percentage function?

Hi. Try this steps on using your math calculator for the percentage function.

Hope This Helps

Step 1. Note that not all calculators behave the same way as far as the percentage key is concerned. Thus, test the examples in this article on your calculator. If your calculator does not have the percent key or does not behave in the way described here, don't despair - you can still use it to calculate percentages, it's just that you will have to press a few more buttons.
Step 2. Let's calculate a tip on your restaurant bill. Suppose your bill happens to be \$64.35 and you would like to leave 15% tip.
Type the following into your calculator: 64.35 * 15 %
Answer: 9.6525 or \$9.65 after rounding.
Most simple calculators will give an answer right here without having to press the = sign. If yours does not, press = and see if you get the right answer.
Alternatively, you can calculate this percentage by typing in
64.35 * 15 / 100 or 64.35 * 0.15
Thus, you may have observed that all that the percent key did here was division by a hundred.
Step 3. Let's calculate a grade percentage - say you got 34 out of a maximum of 40 points.
To figure out your grade percentage type in: 34 / 40 %
Alternatively, without the percent key: 34 / 40 * 100
Step 4. Let's calculate a sale price on those shoes that originally cost \$139, but are now discounted by 35%.
On your calculator type in: 139 - 35 % =
Answer: 90.35 or \$90.35
This calculation is amazingly easy with the percent key! Alternatively, you would first have to calculate what the 35% of the \$139 is and then subtract it from 139:
139 * 35 / 100 = 48.65
139 - 48.65 = 90.35

Hope This Helps

### How do you figure out percent on the TI-84Plus Program. Calculatr

To figure out the percent, you simply divide your number by 100. Or, multiply your number by .xx (xx being whatever percent you want to find).
For example, if I want to know what 20% of 50 is, I would enter this:
.20 x 50 =
The answer is 10. So, 10 is 20% of 50.
As for the divide button, look for a "/".
If this helps, please take the time to give this response a positive rating. Thanks!
