Copier prints dark on lightest setting

this could be down to several thisngs lift the lid on the top and look at the glass area does the underside look clean or dirty? have a look at the scanner area to see if there is dust ont the mirrors you should see this when you do a test copy press the print button and look at the light unit and the mirrors as they move across the glass if you can see dust or dirt on the mirrors they may require cleaning.. if so turn the machine off take out the screws holding the glass in place lift the glass out carefully.. sometimes they stick down if they havent been cleaned lately so pull up.. take a clean dust cloth slide the scanner unit out for access and clean of the mirrors.. p[ut back together and test if no better open the fornt door and look at the units inside to see if you can take them out..give these a check to see if there are marks on the surfaces of the units.. if the copies are dark usually on a old copier its down to the dust..

I want to know that how to adjust exposure level in sharp 1118 or how to make light copy with diganostics mode

l For manual copy density adjustment, press the AUTO/
MANUAL/PHOTO ( / / ) key to select
MANUAL ( ) and adjust with the LIGHT ( ) and
DARK ( ) keys as desired.
l For photographs, select PHOTO ( ) and then adjust with the
LIGHT ( ) and DARK ( ) keys as desired.
l There are 9 exposure steps indicated by 5 indicator lights. (The
indicators light up one or two at a time.)
Successive pushes of the LIGHT ( ) key will change the
indicator lights in the order (3) / (3•2) /(2) / (2•1) / (1).
Successive pushes of the DARK ( ) key will change the
indicator lights in the order (3) / (3•4) / (4) / (4•5)/ (5)
The automatic exposure level can be adjusted to suit your copying
needs.
1 Press the AUTO/MANUAL/PHOTO ( / / ) key
to select the PHOTO ( ) mode.
2 Press and hold the AUTO/MANUAL/PHOTO ( / /
) key for approximately 5 seconds.
l The PHOTO ( ) indicator will go out and the AUTO indicator
will begin to blink.
l One or two exposure indicators corresponding to the automatic
exposure level which has been selected will light up. The factory
default setting is level “3”.
3 Press the LIGHT ( ) or DARK ( ) key to lighten
or darken the automatic exposure level as desired.
4 Press the AUTO/MANUAL/PHOTO ( / / ) key.
l The AUTO indicator will stop blinking and will light up steadily.
l This automatic exposure level will remain in effect until you
change it again by this procedure.

Toshiba 2060 Photocopier prints copies that are a bit too dark.

restart the copier while holding down the "0" and "5" keys. you will now be in service mode. enter "5" and press "start" key a number should show up in the display. this is the exposure value - how dark or light the copies will be. 5 is the automatic exposure setting. around 128 is the normal value. the larger this value the lighter the copies are - the smaller the value the darker the copies.
Enter a new number (exposure value) and press the "interupt" key to save the value. Restart the copier and check what the copies look like. Keep adjusting until it looks good/better.

Cannon PC1061 making dark copies

OR you can do it yourself.

your problems seems to be Dirty Mirrors.

Your copiear has 6 mirrors that need to be clean up. 5 of them are kinda easy access. the other needs to be clean thru something thiner than your fingers. (you can see the mirror but no way you can reach it).

Now dont worry (not yet) about that 6th mirror since THEORICALLY it doesnt get dirty.

So try first to clean up the other mirrors. and see what happens.

They are located below the platen glass (remove it) and be careful with the lenses (do not touch them). clean everything that seems to reflect light Or images.

If nothing changes you may want to try out with a new cartdrige. Your drum may be done.

Dark Images

Even in automatic mode, camera still lets you pick what ISO to use. If ISO-Auto is OFF in camera menus, this can give some dark images. Press and hold ISO button and rotate command dial to give a higher ISO, or turn ISO-Auto on in camera menu with crayon icon. Also note that the camera saves exposure compensation setting for each mode,

Your problem is most likely caused by dirty optics. Place a sheet of paper on the glass & make 1 copy with the lid up. Look under the glass at the mirrors on the scanner & see if there is any dust on them. If so,turn the copier off & unplug it from the wall, remove the glass & wipe off the mirrors with a DRY cotton rag. There are 3 mirrors on the scanner assy. There is also three mirrors under the lens cover that should also be cleaned. After cleaning the optics, make a test copy.If your copies are still to dark, press the additional functions key & select exposure adjustment. You can lighten/darken all copies by changing this setting. If you have any problems or questions my email is bspier@carlsonsupplies.com Good Luck!!
