I can help you with this issue, but first let me clarify a bit. Has it been like this since you first received the unit? Was it shaving much better at the beginning?

Thanks, please let me know and I can help you further.

Strange, well there are definitely a few things going on with your shaver that shouldn't be, and there is really no way to adjust the case. It sounds like this unit has some serious issues, and definitely falls under the warranty replacement conditions. I wouldn't try adjusting the cutter assembly as this will void the warranty. I recommend you contact Remington and arrange for an RMA (no cost) replacement. You can contact them at 1-800-736-4648.

Also, when you call, just so you know, it is actually model number F5790

    Thanks
    Tim

Every time I have seen this problem, it was because of a build-up of hair particles on the top of the shaver body. This build-up makes it impossible for the foil to be locked down into place. The design of this shaver makes it more prone to this than older models.
The solution is to remove the foils and cutters and then thoroughly clean the top of the shaver body. You may even need to use a toothpick or similar object to clean the build-up in the corners. Once you get it thoroughly cleaned out, the foil will snap firmly into place

You did not include the specific model number written on your shaver but I will try to address your questions the best I can without it.
Most likely, your shaver came with a cleaning station and charging station. The cleaning light would tell you it is time to use the cleaning station. After each shave, you should dump out the shavings and rinse under the tap. You should let the shaver dry without the cap on.

Plastic retainer for the shaving blades is broken

You can buy a replacement shaver head and screens from an Oklahoma shaver business, electric shaver company.

Here's a link to their site and the page for the Norelco shaver you're looking to get parts for. The 3rd item down is the shaver head and screens, blades, etc.

I don't think you can get just the plastic retainer all by itself, as the manufacturer makes a complete head and blade as a replacement set, however, you can call them to see if they have just the retainer part you need. But frankly, it's likely a good idea to change shaver heads every so often to get the best shave, etc., so you might just want to spring for the complete replacement assembly part #HQ9 on this site for under $40.00.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

After two weeks use of my new Remington R5130, now one of the three heads keeps popping off during almost during every shave. Any suggestions?

My R5130 kept falling apart when I shaved. I really like Remington Shavers (Spectrum Brands) and have had good luck with them until the R5130 model.

Two points.
1.) -THEY SHIPPED ME A NEW HEAD ASSEMBLY (BUT)- The original one I got had poorly formed plastics tabs on the blade retainer (head) I Googled Remington Shavers and used their Consumer Service tab to request a fix. They sent me a new head assembly free of charge and yes it worked much better. However, it eventually the heads started falling off again.

2.) RUBBER BAND FIXED IT - I looked it over again and thought that the range of movement and forces on the assembly pieces was just more than the design could handle so I looked for a way to contain some of the movement. I slipped a single thin (1/16"x1/8") - 2" diameter rubber band around the three head assembly and the problem has been completely eliminated. I can shave normally now. The rubber band nearly disappears under the black head flanges so it doesn't even look bad. The shave is a little firmer now but it still has most of the flexibility of the original design.

This simple fix will be a hard one for Remington (Spectrum Brands) to adopt but you might help spread the word. I am sure they will avoid this problem in the next models.
