Water leaks at bottom of fridge

The same thing happened to me then I noticed ice had formed at the bottom of our fridge. It was covering a drain hole so water was leaking out the front of fridge instead of going to the drain pan or wherever the hole goes. After I chipped out the ice and cleared the hole with warm water the leak stopped. I also fixed another leak coming from bottom of fridge caused by a loose brass connection on water line going to the door.

We have a hotpoint RLA 34 ( MICROBAN ) FRIDGE . water keeps seeping into the bottom , under the crisper box tried turnining temp down , made sure it's level , no blocked drainage hole . door shuts tight...

You said no blocked drainage hole, where was the drainage hole that you checked located? Did you pour water down this drain, and furthermore did you check that the water you poured into the drain flowed into the condensate pan on the outside of the fridge? Unless you have a problem with an ice maker leaking water, it sounds very much like you do have a blocked drainage hole, otherwise known as a defrost drain. the drain system begins underneath the evaporator coil inside the freezer, this is where the water that is collected in the defrost cycle flows into a drain tube that leads the water down to the condensate pan. The best and safest way to clear out this drain is to blow it out with compressed air, after you remove any and all ice at the beginning of the drainage system, in other words, the hole located underneath the evaporator coil.

Water leaking from bottom

Between your freezer section and refrigerator section there is a draintube that allows water to flow from the freezer to the fridge during defrost. You will need to remove the rear wall of the freezer to access the freezer part and the center console of the fridge if one is there. Once you have determined that tube is cleared of ice you will need to continue tracing where the water flows which is usually at the top of the fridge section in the rear center. It goes out the back wall there. Make sure thats all cleared and pour a small cup of water in the freezer part to be sure its clean. Observe the water flow all the way out of the tube to the lower part of your unit into the drain pan which is located at the very bottom or in the rear on top of the compressor.

Water keeps accumulating in the bottom of our HotPoint refrigerator?

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer2.gif..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curtain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you have any other question. This will work in most all cases of this type. You need a piece of copper wire, 14 guage, 12 to 16 inches. You can shortin it as you need to Turnoff the power to the fridge. Rap one end of the wire around the evaprorator heater and feed the othe end down the drain tube. This wire will heat up when the heater comes on and will supply heat down into the drain tube hopefully preventing the drain from freezing.
