Its your light engine failing. It can cause different colored "spots or ovals" to appear in the black background.

My Zenith ( now LG ) E44W46 LCD had the engine replaced after only 10 months, and now 3 years later it is failing again. There is a lawsuit against LG for using defective engine assemblies in this particular model.

After much searching I located this number, 800.243.0000 and called from work this past Monday at 8:15 a.m. central time. I was blown away to actually have someone pick up and direct me to a rep who reassured me that LG was aware and has set up a department to handle claims.

I was issued a case number and told that I will be contacted by a rep from this "department" and they would replace the set. With what I don't know yet but I will post back after I get thier final answer and the details.

SOURCE: My COBY 33" LCD TV will not show the picture

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet. Then, try power resetting the TV.
Turn Off the Tv and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation.
If the issue still persists, then the TV requires service.

Need to replace headlight bulb. how do u do so

if you are wanting to take out the light housing... -- remove the black plastic cover (flat head screw driver and needle nose pliers work well for me) use the screw driver to lift up the head of the black plastic "bolts" (i'll call them) and then either pull them out by hand or with the needle nose pliers.

  • ** note: make sure you take the entire plastic bolt out, there are two parts**
Remove black plastic cover -- remove the two bolts/screws (2 for each headlight) -- carefully pull the headlight housing out
** NOTE** the bulbs will still be attached so be careful
Then twist the bulblight socket (to the left) and pull it out.
Repeat the steps in reverse order if replacing just the housing
If you want to replace the bulbs follow the below procedure
  1. Once the socket is out of the housing, gently pull the bulb out. (may want to use a rag/glove/towel incase bulb breaks)
  2. Take new bulb and (using rag/glove/towel) push the bulb back into the socket and then repeat the above steps in reverse...

Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

How can i replace the lamp by myself

if you are standing in front of the TV, look on the right side. There is a door with two screws (phillips) remove the two screws and open the door. Inside you will see a black object with a silver handle and two black screws. remove the screws and pull the lamp straight out by the handle. I you buy a factory bulb, you can just slide it right in. If its an aftermarket bulb, then you have to put it into the housing. Be careful not to touch the glass portion of the bulb with your bare hands. the oils in your skin will shorten the life of the buld. Just like replacing a vehicles bulb. hope this works for you.

Wont turn on and front lights blink

Start by checking the lamp, there's no sure fire way to tell if its the lamp or not.Remove the lamp housing door off the back right side of the tv (if you are looking at the back of the tv, it has one black screw holding it in place. Look inside and you'll see the black and silver metal housing. Then loosen the gold screws on each side of the lamp housing. You'll know you're looking at the right thing because there is a black handle that lets you pull the housing straight out (after loosening the screws, the screws wont come completely out). Take into account the amount of time it has been since you replaced the lamp, 3-4 years seems to be about average. You won't really be able to tell if the lamp is burned out or not by looking at it. Sometimes there is a break in the glass tube inside the bowl, sometimes its a white powder in the small bulb at the bottom of the glass tube. Either way, use the stickers on the housing to get your lamp number and order a bulb. is a great place to look. I use them all the time. Any osram or philips bulb off ebay will work fine too. Email me directly if you need further assistance. Good Luck

In my experience with these models, if have found that your fault could be due to a blown bulb assembly. This can easily be checked by looking up the bulb replacement procedure in the user manual. The bulb should look clear and see-through to the tip of the filament. There must be a small class pipe inside which has a wire connected to the tip.

Any white residue or black discoloration inside the bulb indicates a blown bulb. You can contact your nearest Sony service centre for a new replacement bulb. Write down the "XL-xxxx " number as you will have much faster result than giving the model number.

If you need any more assistance please post a reply.

Best of luck.
