Question about Samsung LN32A450 LCD Monitor

1 Answer

LN32A450 Samsung 32" 1 1/2 years old, and as you are aware from the many internet posts on this TV, I am experiencing the intermittent "SHUTTING OFF, TURNING ON" issue that seems to plague this particular set. It appears NOT to be an overheating issue as the set was left on yesterday for 10 hours. Then this morning it turned on, clicked off, came back on its own a minute later, then off and now nothing. It will not turn on. Customer Service has not been helpful. Rich

Part is not available at either outlet.
Apparently this is an issue for many owners of Samsung LN32A450 tvs. I believe it is covered under the "LEMON" law and I will seek to have the set replaced by Samsung. I'm sure you would agree that the power supply board should last longer than 18 months.

Why does the tv keep shutting off for no reason?

sounds like a capacitor problem or the panel for the buttons on the side of the tv. here is a photo of a blown cap. the one on the left. check that first. if no blown caps, then check the button panel.

The monitor light red light that comes on and off when you turn the tv on and off is flashing and the tv will not come on.

Just fix this 2 years old TV today due to bad cap in the 5v power supply, I would suggest you to take a look in the power supply module first.
See my pictures here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Samsung%20LN32A330/
This is really bad that expensive TV failed due to cheaply made caps. I would not recomend SAMSUNG any more to my firends after seeing this.
Please post back what you find, it can be problem some where else also.

Our power went out for a brief moment and now the Samsung LN32A450 LCD TV we have isn't working and there is only a blinking red light on the bottom. Any suggestions?

Try unplugging and plugging it back in. Was there lightning, and was it attached to a surge protector?
Try pressing the power button repeatedly or even slapping the back of the tv (try googling this).
Good luck!

Lines down screen

We have a Samsung LE32A457, whilst we were watching T.V tonight the top halve of the screen suddenly appeared with green lines halfway down the screen and that half of the picture was unwatchable, T.V is 2 years old. We have removed all scart leads but this did not help and the problem still exists, when shutting down a white horizontal line across the centre of the screen appears from this line upwards the picture is faulty. Any help or advice would be grateful.

White ghost screen only 1/1/2 years old started going to white screen occasionally at 6 months old just for a few seconds now gives only white ghost picture.

It can be the ribbon cable on the T-CON board is looseor it is not getting 5vdc from the logic board to feed the T-CON board.

You will need to open it up and take a look inside. It may be still under warranty.

if the line is vertical it means the LCD panel is defective or a contact to it is loose.

My 3 year old shot water at the screen of my LCD tv. Showed the picture for awhile, then went white, now there are multicolored vertical lines. Will it dry out? How can I repair it?

lines in the screen means the screen itself is bad and would need to be replaced. No other way around it. If your TV is still under warranty you may want to contact Samsung and try to get it replaced thru them but if they see any damage they won't cover it so keep that in mind. My tv shuts on and off every 5 min and turns back on by itself.

I had a similar problem on our 61" LED projection Samsung, It was about 9 months old, I called in the engineer (It was still under warrenty.), he updated the firmware on the TV. He connected his laptop to the TV, went on to Samsung,s internet site, downloaded and installed the latest update. We have had no problems since.
I hope this helps you.
