Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
off the drum screen and drum body. Inside, you will see these two
antennas in the ink bead. Clean out most of the ink and make sure the
small antenna has no ink on it. Reassemble.
To take of the drum, all around the two ends of the drum are small machine screws - you have to take the 4 out that hold the piece that clamps down the master, and remove the clamp - then all the screws around the two ends - 2 on each side have slotted holes in the drum body, so just loosen them - you need them to realign the drum body and screen when you put them back on. I kept the screen and body together when i did it. on the bottom is the big roller, covered with ink - if you look between that roller and the center of the drum, you will see the piece with two stiff wires, one short and one long - the short one needs to be cleaned completely of ink.

T04-513 = Ink Overflow sensor
Sometimes, the ink sensor inside the drum has two antennas, a short one a long one. The long one is always supposed to have ink on when sticking into the ink bead. If it doesn't it calls for the ink pump to turn on and draw ink from the bottle. If the short one ever gets ink on it, this error code comes up. Sometimes it is just caused by ink splattering inside.
Take off the drum screen and drum body. Inside, you will see these two antennas in the ink bead. Clean out most of the ink and make sure the small antenna has no ink on it, then reinstall to finish the job.
